Hello everyone, I installed some Falken Wildpeaks about a year ago and have always had some heavy vibrations (both from front and rear) mostly at highway speeds. Is this just a balancing issue? I have seen countless reviews on these tires with nothing but good things and I have had some other results in regards to that.

Also, Does anyone know what pressure to run these tires at for road driving, I keep mine at about 36 but have seen others do different.

    Thanks guys!

Pressure will depend on what load rating your tires are. If balancing is questionable, have them road force balanced and that should tell you if the tires are out of balance or out of round.

Please explain road force balance. It is the first I have heard this term

To get a rough idea, and obviously exaggerated, one could conceivably balance a cinder block but it would never roll smooth.

Do most tire places have this type of balancer or are these hard to find someone to do this?

Gonna need more info to help you. Tire size, wheels, lift, miles, 4x4 etc. Did it start with the tire change or? Could be driveshaft related. Could be wheel bearings or alignment. Could be the tires need balanced as well.

Probably, but it's best to ask when you call a shop. I live in a rural area and surprisingly a local shop can road force balance. Your mileage might vary....

Someone chime in if I'm incorrect but Tacomas are hub centric and some wheels need a "hub ring" (not sure of the correct term) to accurately center them. This is another possible suspect....

I know Discount Tire has one if you have one locally. They are very active here on TW.

Are they the VR-602's for the Tacoma? If so, their site states that they are hub centric. Interesting to note that they don't list 2nd Gen Tacomas. Only listed are the 3rd. Gens. Hmmmmmmm.....

Those are the wheels I have. In the product description it says "2002+ Toyota Tacoma". I'm not sure if anything changed that year, but it is a strange year to start at I would think.
    Edit:
looking back I see where it says "2016+". very weird

36 is high. My peaks ride pretty good around 30-32.

Only place that seems to be able to balance my wheels is the dealer. Last 2 sets of tires(including the wildpeaks i just bought) had a shake until I had a Toyota dealer road force them.

No problem man. It just helps a little more. These trucks have vibe issues with lifts and bigger tires. When I used mine in the oil field a little mud inside the wheels made the steering wheel shake like crazy. Your first thoughts are probably correct as most guys are saying. Get a rebalance of some type and let us know. Hopefully it will fix the problem.

I ran 265 wild peaks and was not impressed. They rode nice but I wore them out way to quickly. I did go with the softer compound so that was probably my fault.

    Good luck.
