Parts starting to roll in. I don’t think I’ve ever had truck parts that were packaged so well.

Wasn’t expecting any of it until next week. This shipment somehow made it today while the rest isn’t supposed to arrive until Tuesday. USPS logic.

Headed camping tonight near the Bruneau river. New diesel heaters for the RTT so shock relo will have to wait!

Wish I was camping. I hope to get a portable diesel heater setup thrown together for next Winter. The relocate probably won’t get done until late March or April depending on when I can get the truck over to the fab shop.

Any benefit to getting a weld on shank holder and adjustable clevis instead of bolting directly to the frame. I would expect it to more of a linear force on the strap and strap tabs instead of side loading the frame side. Or possibly damaging the frame by it pulling out.

Yes for the adjustability. Bolting direct to SIDE of frame won't damage frame, that's the strongest part (never bolt to an unsupported flange of a frame)

You guys with 2.5 inch 12’s and 14’s how close is the shock body getting to the frame at max articulation?

I have not measured this in a while, but there is enough room for bypass tubes.

I estimate a smooth body would have between 0.5-.75" clearance at full articulation

Nice, I really like how small the lower eyelet is on those shocks, you can get the lower mounts pretty high with those.

Hopefully it works out well. Wasn’t sure if the welded lower eyelet was worth it, but we’ll see how everything lines up.

Those look awesome, and elbow on the resi is the correct way for this kit.

What are the specs on those, travel and collapsed length?

Thanks! I can’t wait to see how everything rides once it’s complete.

They are 2.5x13” shocks. 20.25” compressed/33.25” extended is what ADS told me. My own measurements tell me they have about 12.5” of usable travel with the shaft bumps on them.

That’s should work perfect, set your shocks up so they have 1”- 1 1/4” shaft showing at full bump. I just did mine and 1 1/4 was what I did to be safe. At full articulation the shock body just touches the shock bumper.

Good to know! I'm still trying to wrap my head around how to get the leaf pack to get to full bump outside of removing everything but the main leaf and compressing it.

You can do it that way, just make a spacer the exact thickness of the leaf pack. You can also measure the bump stop to the landing pad, depending on what bumps you have you can guess really close to what it needs to be. Factory bumps are hard so they won’t compress nearly as much as super bumps or other progressive bumps. You can also get the top mount and bottom mounts tacked in place with few tacks in easy to remove spots and go cycle the suspension and see if it clears. If you have say 5 inches of space between the bump stop and landing pad I would start with 6 inches of shaft showing the shock and go articulate it. I started with the driver side first since you only have to remove the factory axle mount to test fit the shock. I found a loading dock and maxed it out and went from there.

Good point. That was my other thought process. I'm running ADS air bumps, so I'd need to figure out how much they compress to get a good "general" number.

I probably need to talk to the guy that will be welding all of it on. He's done a BAMF relocate before among other stuff so he may already have a good method. I'm hoping to be able to help along the way, but that depends on work.
