Everyone using the JTC Mercedes wrench are you only using it to re-torque or and your also using it to break loose the cam gear bolts? Assuming it’s strong enough it seems like it’d be a lot easier using the JTC torque adapter and a breaker bar than a box wrench.

I would not use that to break loose the bolts. If that thing snaps or slips loose it’s gonna go flying across the shop.

thanks. That’s what I got it for but figured I’d ask. Sounds like it’s best to stick with the box wrench breaking them loose.

Why is it sometimes implied to remove the intake manifold?

is it even in the way?
Because I think it’s directly over top of the engine and therefore shouldn’t be blocking access to valve covers which are at the sides. but I’m not under the hood looking right now so I’m not 100% sure.

IM removal seems like a lot of work that is hopefully unnecessary

Haven’t really got on it yet but the truck was getting 14.2mpg before and that’s with 34s and 4.56 gears, it moves effortlessly now.
