I had my leaf pack recalled about 10 months ago and the new leafs that Toyota put in are extremely soft. It seems that if I have a full gas tank the leaf pack is flattened putting most of the weight responsibility on my Bilstein 5100's. The over arching and bounce only get worse with camping gear or hauling any bit of lumber/materials.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I'm planning on upgrading my suspension to the Toytec 521600 coils with new 5100's up front for a 3" lift and a rear Toytec AAL and new 5100's in the rear. (the kit is $888)

Has anyone added a leaf to their recalled Leafs and does it help? also wondering if the AAL will be enough to level the truck and match what I plan on doing in the front. Or to go with a completely new OME leaf pack.

    Any advice helps. Thank you!

I did my suspension about 8 years ago or so. At the time, went with 5100s on all four corners, Toytec 112620 springs, and a single Toytec AAL in the rear. I had the 5100s in the front set at zero and just used the extra length of the Toytec springs to give me ~1.5" of lift in the front. The single AAL gave me a similar ~1.5" in the rear.

When I had the rear leaf springs replaced under warranty a few years ago, I moved the Toytec AAL to the new leaf pack. I am not sure which AAL from Toytec you are looking at (I think they make a single AAL and a triple AAL), but my stock rear leaf springs and single AAL are not cutting it - sagging. I have bought a full leaf pack. Just waiting for warmer weather and my new rear shocks to arrive before I install.

If your stock leaf is flattened out, I wouldn't use an AAL leaf to try and improve/lift it. I would just go with a new leaf pack.

    how do you like

How do you like your 620 springs? i'm back and forth between a 600 vs a 620 Toytec spring. Are they pretty stiff or do you enjoy the handling/ride quaity?

    Thanks

I only wanted a 1.5" lift, so went with the 620 spring. I am not running any extra weight up front. I find the ride a bit stiff. I have played with tire air pressure, but still find the ride stiff. Truck is a double cab, long bed, with a topper on the back.
