    Hey everybody...

I started this thread... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/utah-marketplace-anything-within-300m-from-slc.710201/ because I had trouble finding the thread that was started to sell/buy parts in Utah. Also, there are enough I dentifiers in the title of this thread that you should be able to put, Utah, 300m, and tires (or whatever) in the search function and find what you want without having to filter through posts from South Carolina. So I hope this is useful.

The most common thing I see on for sale threads is, "If only you were closer." Maybe this will help us Utahns instead of paying shipping.

The North Fork of AFC (Tibble Fork & above) is one of the most popular OHV/4x4 areas in northern Utah. Despite its popularity, it’s still one of my personal favorites and I’ve spent hundreds? or day up there since the mid 90’s. I’ve been slowly (very) writing a book about the history of the mines and miners in North Fork and have enjoyed leaning about the many people that lived and died in the canyon.

    For history nerds...

Before & After from American Fork Canyon. These charcoal kilns and railroad water tank stood where the modern day Tibble Fork Reservoir parking lot now sits. Under the reservoir was the site of Deer Creek City. In later years the tracks were removed, town faded away and an ore tram and loading tipple occupied the site. Precious ore from the Live Yankee Mine in Mary Ellen Gulch worked its way over the ridges to the site. I’ll share a before and after or that too!

If you’re into these, I shared many other AFC “Then and Nows” on the ExpeditionUtah forum here:

    Another from Tibble Fork Reservoir

Another Before & After from American Fork Canyon. This tram terminus and ore tipple once sat at the edge of the small Deer Creek City, now Tibble Fork Reservoir. The tram was suspended over a handful of drainages to its upper terminus at the Live Yankee Mine in Mary Ellen Gulch. The tram was constructed in 1931, it was later partially dismantled by the Forest Service. One can still find towers (some standing, some cut at the base and tipped) and cables along the original route. The lower building saw use as a ski shack and was later torn down during the construction of Tibble Fork Reservoir.

Nothing formal in place, 99.9% of our retail customers are members of a forum, club, FB group or local. But we always take care of our regular customers particularly the locals we get to know. Give us a shout when you’re in need and we can get you taken care of.

Glad you enjoy them. I’m far from a professional photographer, really I’d love to go back with a photographer and spend time really dialing in the photos. I have hundreds of historic pictures, many of which I have exclusive access to as they came from a private estate. There is a ton of neat history up there and while I love the 4x4 trails, they are made so much better by poking around the old cabin sites, mines, graves, mills, etc.

ExpeditionUtah formally adopted the Miller Hill 4x4 Trail and we’ve been able to add some nice signage and restore the Tyngs Grave high on Miller Hill. We replicated it as closely as possible and used better materials (thanks Snowbird for donating to the effort). We do a big service project up there each year so hopefully the fence never gets into the same disrepair.

Found a almost perfect second gen. Low miles, clean, grandpa owned, no rust but once I opened the door... smoke smell. Even though the ad said it was smoke free. I was so disappointed but oh well the search continues. If anyone is selling or knows someone who'd sell their 12-15 tacoma in good condition let me know. Mileage doesn't scare me too much, but i'd like to keep it under 100k miles if possible.

Agreed. A little too overbuilt for me and my needs but for someone wanting that setup it's a great truck.

Do you have any more photos like that you can share? Very neat to see the history and what used to be.

Hello my Utah friends. I’m new to the forum, but not new to Toyota. Glad to be here. My new Tacoma is scheduled to be built on the 19th. So excited
