@daveeasa is right. I’m not sure, but don’t the hideaways have a remote gain knob? I have the JBL basspro, and it does.

If you haven’t bought yet, and you’re planning under seat, why not get a real amp?

The thought has crossed my mind several times. Might end up going that route since I have plenty of time.

    What do you run?

I paid for JL amps back in August. But haven’t taken receipt of them yet. I am a fan though. Trickiest part is the mounting tray.

yeah, I've heard good things about them but haven't had much in person (hearing) experience with what's out there

And I’m not overly excited about the 4 gauge through the firewall.

If you don’t tow, you can probably use the brake controller feed. It’s 10 gauge and I assume fused. Probably good for a reasonable amp.

The OEM Audio option isn’t horrible. Maybe a bit more than one might want to spend but a clean install. I was contemplating it till I got the Pioneer. And one guy I really respect even likes it with the Pioneer. With a stock head unit it makes a ton of sense provided cost isn’t a massive issue.

My little JBL is offended by that comment. It identifies as a real speaker...

Yeah. The hideaways come with the knob. At least my 8” one I had before did.

I’ve got a 2021. Let me know if you need some pictures and I can try to help out. It’s JBL though; not sure if that makes a difference.

It would be wise to use a relay and play with the coil side for the diode/circuit taps and not the input juice to the added/change reverse lamps.

Might be space for a 2nd sealed relay off the higher stud.

I get the desire to do everything with one harness but I also like the modular approach of separate harnesses for each functional purpose.
I especially like doing some stuff with the passenger side but I think I'm in the minority on that.

Add the on/off switch on the ground wire.

I have info on the built-in amp and separate amp, this last one is like all prior head units where the amp has all the speaker connections.

Unfortunately, some of us had to choose between a manual transmission or a long box......and I needed the extra space....
    Stupid limited Toyota configurations....

So the stuff I have is 090IIU 10 pin and 6 pin, same as it was in my 2006 Corolla and 2002 Tundra and I think even my 2000 Tacoma. I believe there is a different shape of plug which has these signals (perhaps feeding an amp downstream for the JBL system) in 2020 or 2021 and up? But since I am too lame to own a nice new truck, I don't know, only what I've read.
