Yeah there are a few different designs, would have been easier to just buy one but hey I made it....only took 12.5hrs to print LOL

One of the reasons why I bought this truck is because it’s small and fit in the garage I don’t like parking outside

Photo of CBI Overland bolt on rock sliders(DOM) powder coated.

Ordered these during the black friday sale back in November with an original delivery date at the end of January. They required full payment and a $350 freight shipping charge when I placed the order. The end of January came and went without any correspondence from CBI so I emailed them to get a status update. They gave me a new estimated ship date of the beginning of March but I voiced my dissatisfaction and surprise!, they showed up mid February.

The sliders were well packaged and the $350 delivery went smoothly. I was surprised that there wasn't a CBI logo laser cut into the top plate like there is on the kickout version but the sliders look very high quality and the power coating is good. Installation was a breeze with the CBI YouTube video however, the day after the install a loud ping could be heard from the front passenger side. Upon inspection there wasn't enough clearance between the front of the slider and the body. On the 2021, I'm not sure about other Tacomas, the body extends down just a couple millimeters at a seam/joint at the bottom of the front fender. So, the slider and body were making contact and rubbing as the frame was flexing during normal driving. The only way I could install the slider and get enough clearance was by having my son stand on the front of the slider as I bolted it into place. It seems to me that these could've used a little more adjustment available. After driving around for a week the slider has remained in position and still has the clearance it needs. (If you zoom in on the picture you can see where the slider made a notch for itself in the body as it rubbed)

In hindsight I think I would've liked to try Mobtown since I've seen them very active and helpful on this forum. Or go with a good local fab shop so you don't have to pay extraordinary shipping costs or have to wait three months to get them. I'm sure these CBI sliders will work fine and last a long time. YMMV

That looks really nice I have had these in my mod pile for awhile, so this gives me the inspiration to install mine this weekend. I plan on getting a few extra panel clips as I've heard they can fall down into the door well and be lost forever. Knowing my luck if I don't have extras, I will lose some. If I do have extras, it won't happen.

Without question, the best "mod" I've seen throughout this entire thread. Your mother is obviously a rad lady. I wish she sold these... I'd be the first to order.

Just trying to catch up with all the mods I've done lately.

First up: Spartan X Customs scoop light. This thing rocks! WAAAAAY better that I was expecting and worth the price. All correspondence was through Instagram so I had to use my kid for that. It took a little more than a month to get it in my hands and then they emailed my the install videos in 13 segments but this thing fits like a glove. The light bar goes right into the scoop like they were made for each other. The wiring harness and relay have braided lines and OEM style plugs and switch. I mean the whole thing looks OEM. As for performance, I have mine shining through the scoop grill for a stealth look and it still throws far and floods wide. The middle LEDs are clear spot lights and the outers are diffused floods. With this light on and everything else off, it's like having my brights on. When I have both this and my brights running, all the gaps are filled in and it's just a wall of clean light. I highly recommend this for anyone with an otherwise useless scoop.

Next: Baja Designs S2Pro ditch lights. I ordered these in the wide cornering pattern with a wiring harness. I also ordered the Cali Raised low pro mounts and easily installed/bolted these onto my truck first. The lights went on next without issue and as per the instructions. I've read that others have had nuts/bolts/washers issues but I did not. The BD wiring harness that I got easily spanned the engine compartment and each light had its own dedicated wires to the relay. The switch that came with the harness is VERY basic and doesn't match the interior of the Tacoma but options are available. Otherwise the harness is pretty sloppy/floppy when compared to the Spartan X harness/switch.
After trying to piggyback these ditch lights with the scoop light to no avail, I ran them separate and got them running. My impression was that the wide cornering version wasn't for me but might be great for slow tight spaces. I need a light that throws far as I'm flying down the highway so I don't plow a deer. So, I ordered the clear spot covers direct from Baja Designs and they are AMAZING. They throw very far and spread my wall of light wide enough to increase safety.

Last: Dancing hula girl. Makes me smile. Enough said...

Yeah, the spartan bar in probably one of my fav's. People see and look at my truck and still don't notice it. Thought about upgrading to the black stealth version but I like seeing it, he didn't have that option when I got mine, or the amber back lit option

I got my Garmin Mini Cam in today and seems fairly straight forward. However, either here or in another thread (which I can't remember), someone suggested buying this little item off Amazon to mount to mirror to avoid the suction cup mess on the window:

    screenshot-www.amazon.com-2021.03.09-15_37_31.jpg

I guess I got stumped once it came to the extension used to mount this. The instructions aren't the most clear. If anyone has bought this before, or if you are the respective person who suggested this and mounted with the Garmin mini cam, could you please PM me.

    TIA!

Edit: Just for clarification purposes, this thing comes with a lot of extensions. Thus, causing my confusion.

Added some door sill protectors. Not a hard install. But it's a little stressful. I didn't use the soapy water method, just went in dry.......hahahhaha. But really, dry, it worked well.

Those look great! I haven’t seen any pictures of them without the kick outs. I ordered a pair of the Cali raised; should only be a few more weeks until they’re in. I think these will be a great option for me since I am always using the roof rack for my SUP. I have the predator steps now, but they limit me to where I can stand. Looks like with these sliders, I can use it as a step across the length of the cab. Do you have a pic from the front of your truck to see how far they stick out?
