They are nice but still wouldn't trust it long term.

That's a nice looking tire. I now have more caster with SPC uppers so I'm excited to go 35 now. Probably won't need very much trimming/smashing.
Have you done any work up front yet?

In 1999 I had a 89 xlt 4x4 4.0l engine auto. Went to Scugog Ontario to see it and liked it. Bought it from a Farrier, on the test drive it drove like a dream, like a Cadillac really. Left a down payment went back the next day to get it and it looked like someone put a lift kit on it overnight. lol. Well the guy took all his horse shoes and tool's out of the back and it rode like a empty box car on the Canadian Pacific.:) Never the less was happy to be in a truck and the only problem I had with that truck was fuel consumption, what a pig. Went to Just Jeeps and talked to Stu, Jim was their lead mechanic at the time Now Rock spyder 4x4. Asked about a proper suspension for it and was told nothing is available for Ford Rangers. But lots of stuff available for Jeeps. I believed him and sold it 2 years later, as I recall it, and got my first jeep. I could go on for a long time with these old stories but hear is the interesting about the whole thing. I was looking for Tacoma's for a very long time before this but could never afford it, over 20 years later, many jeeps, diesel trucks, trail rig's and 4 runner's, I'm finally into what I wanted all along. I had to go through a lot of vehicles and a lot of money to get what I wanted so my hats off to all who are starting with a Tacoma no matter what you paid for it because you did not pay for a whole bunch of trucks b4 so you actually saved money by just going to Tacoma right away.:hattip:

End of story, I'm getting old so I like to tell stories. lol.:)

don't justify my initial buyers remorse!

the Tacoma is my first truck, first RWD vehicle (well until 4H/4L gets turned on), first vehicle other than the family car, first p̶o̶o̶r̶ good financial decision, and the first for a lot of other things as well.

Funny you mention this, because last night I was having a bit of buyer remorse - mainly for not getting the MT. Sometimes I gotta open kijiji and see what's for sale to remind myself I made a good choice.:anonymous:

    Right there with you :hattip:

Still waiting for the wheels to arrive.

The Kenda thread shows people trimming the plastic fenderliner and smashing the pinch weld along with cab mount chop. The benefit over a wider 35" is less chopping required on the cab mount. You probably have to cut less than others because of the drop-bracket lift.

the AT may be a slush box and has no balls below 3000RPM, but it's is still a solid choice for every day driving. It holds well when on trails but for the harder/ funner stuff seems we just need to leave it in Select and row our own gears!

who am i kidding? 3rd pedal would have been great....if only my knee wasn't rightly fucked...

I have owned nothing but full size GM trucks in the past...every conceivable configuration known to man kind. Wait. I haven't owned a Crew cab with a dump box...I'll put that on the list. So naturally when I scooped up the Taco DCLB the masses went bezerk. Riots in the streets. Panic set in and people were asking me strange questions like "are you ok?" and "what happened?!!" My favorite..."What have you done with Rich?"
I really started to wonder if I had done the right thing.
Once I realized that I couldn't compare the Taco to my Silverado..everything was right in the world.
Man I love this truck...I'd buy another in a heart beat. I'm thinking I probably won't have to..lol
I will always own some sort of GM product (currently my 65) and there is a squarebody project on the horizon, but for now my truck needs are certainly met. Big time!
    I guess I'm old too!

I've had a few people reach out with DCSB / AC trucks, so those will be the first sets I get going.

If anyone with a DCLB is interested, hit me up :boink:
Will post some pictures after the first set is done.

I hear you on GM trucks @19Canuck. I loved all the body styles until 2007.

I had a 1983 2WD Wrangler package 6.2 L diesel With a dual battery set up that I purchased at 100000 km and drove it to 500000 K....Great fuel economy

This 1988 picture was my 73 *edit......it was a 74 square body. This was a base model truck I restored with chrome and rally wheels from other trucks. The only problem was it was a gutless six-cylinder that did not have power steering so it was a bitch to drive. It was also a manual transmission 3 in the tree column shift. Foolish project.
