You can definitely find scales (or make your own) available for some brands. I like titanium and carbon fiber. G10 is another nice material.

I have a couple of fixed blades that have stag horn handles. When I'm interested, I usually want to see the individual piece before deciding. DLT Trading usually offer photos of their stock to allow you to see the selection.

For some reason I find a lot of knives I am drawn to have carbon fiber scales. I don't care for frn or g10 and despite knowing there are possible aftermarket options I will avoid knives with g10 or frn. Titanium is fine with me and I love wooden scales but seem to not care as much for many models with wood

I don’t care for the wooden scales but a couple of CRK’s that I have are beautifully detailed with wood. Maybe I’d consider wood going forward?

Love your 940 collection. Recently lost my 940-1 on a hike. Picked up the bladehq M4 exclusive recently. Also got the new carbon bug out. We have similar taste ;).

Sub’d but this thread is not going to be good for my wallet. Much like this entire forum. I’ll post up a pic of my collection later.

One of the reasons I chose this reblade is this reblade isn't as pointy as his others. Makes it more of a user for me and not having to worry about breaking the tip.

My EDC is my Kershaw RJI. I like Kershaw's assisted opening best, and the weight and size make it a great EDC knife. If I ever lost it I wouldn't cry too hard. My BIL lost an expensive Benchmade at LAX. I lost an inexpensive S&W folding Tanto at Ontario. I had it attached to the strap on my pack and went through security. They x-rayed it 3 or 4 times before finding where it was. I couldn't find it either, but it was in a black pouch on a black strap. I was certain she was wrong until we found it. Later I realized I had left that knife on there when I was in Hawaii a month earlier which means it was missed in Honolulu. Hmmm...

I have a couple of Benchmades, an 810 SBK Contego and a Nakamura Axis 531/1000 first production. A SOG Tech Bowie, a bladed Key-Bar, some CRKT stuff, a bunch of S&W stuff I often pick up when buying ammo for some reason, a mini Rambo knife (it's actually a pretty nice knife) I use to open mail, and an assortment of Victorinox, odd knives I pick up here and there, old stuff that was my grandpa's, a bunch of these brass and wood handled folders Sears used to carry. When I worked there I bought one of each size. I have an assortment of butterfly knives and some pens, that are knives and a KaBar Tanto in the Tacoma, and a bunch of commemorative and decorative stuff.

I've carried a knife since I was 10 or so. I always saw it as a right of passage as a kid. Lots of guys I grew up with got two things right around that age. A good folding knife and a Ruger 10/22. A knife or flashlight is always a good gift for the men in our family.

I had some kool-aide hair nit-wit at Target freak out once because I used my EDC to open a box. You would have thought I pulled a sword out like Jim Belushi in the old SNL Samurai skit. My wife and I were hiking in Glacier NP and had another couple come up with the wife holding out a can of bear spray with a zip tie through the trigger. "Sir, sir, might you have a jack knife to remove this?" You would have to hear her voice and see these two, but it was funny as Hell. They were strangers in a strange land. My wife used her EDC to cut it off, but I could see this gal looking at the SOG Bowie on my pack strap and having a clutch your pearls moment. My wife gave the husband a disapproving look that let him know, "You were not prepared; man-card revoked".

Love mine as well but prices have gone up on them since they’ve become impossible to find now so I carry it less
