this morning, got in the taco, released the e-brake lever. started to move, but the e-brake felt like it was still on. this happened a few times last winter, but only when the temp. gets like 30 or lower. any ideas of what i should do, it will eventually completely disengage after i go down the road a bit!

also, my e-brake light has been staying on even though my e-brake isnt on. this happened a few years ago too, but one of my friend's adjusted something, but im not sure as to what he did! wondering if u all may have had this same thing happen? any words of wisdom for me on this or the above would be greatly appreciated.

i have the same problem. the cold freezes mine engaded and i have to get under the truck and bear it with a monkey wrench every morning and jiggle it around a little bit before it breaks free. the brake light is probably because its still not full "off" or your brake fuild level is low check that.

In the winter with wet, slushy roads, it is possible for the E-brake to freeze up. I just use diligence in not setting it if I've been driving in wet conditions and the temp is freezing or below overnight.

My light was staying also till I figured out that the cable had a kink in it right where it goes through the fire wall, this didnt allow the pb handle to hit the switch for the light to go off, so I got a spring that was about 4in long went underneath the truck (driver-side)where the lever is (connection between the front cable and rear cable) and stretched the spring from the lever to the frame. Now when I disengage my parking brake it practically slams to the stop, Works Great

Been the victim of a frozen e-brake before, now it doesn't get set when it really cold out (30° and below). if you live on a hill, get a wheel chock or ?? to put behind the tire, (or to drive over top of and rest/roll it back on), then release the brake. or find a flat and level spot and just leave it off.

Pop's digs a hole in his gravel driveway to park his tire in.
