    Hello everyone, was hoping to get some info on what would be best regearing for my 2010 Prerunner with manual transmission.
    Also most important a re-gear kit for just a 2WD.
    If there's none out there, then I'll just have to save up for the 4wd kit. Thank you .

    Wrong section, but that’s okay. When you say re-gear, what exactly are you looking to accomplish? Better mileage, better towing, more acceleration, correct for tire change? And what gears are in it now?

    Lol oops. Might have to change that.
    Yeah my Prerunner is a regular cab. My plans for it would be to install a bolt-on LT. In my opinion, bolt on is more of a mid travel suspension. But that's what I'll do, because that's what I'll be happy with. I'll still keep 17" wheels but definitely have good AT tires. Biggest might be 33" tires i would do. Since it's a small truck i think I can take my time getting 33's.
    I heard 4.88 is great for the truck but i don't know if it applies to manual transmission.

    Oh also gears are stock but i haven't looked what Ratios my truck supposed to have

    All 2nd gen MT regular cabs came with 4.10 gears.

    What size tire are you planning on running? Do you plan on adding armor? Why would you get gears for a front diff if you don't have one?

    Not sure , i believe 33's on a 17" wheel. I might try to do couple small jumps here and there and go trailing. Maybe some armor would be good. That's why I'm trying to figure out. I google search gear kits but most I see is kits from Nitro. I only see 4wd kits i would love to find 2wd gear kits

    Honestly, go use the truck and regear it after you need to, not before

    I'm running 4.30 with 35/11.5 /17 and it feels just like stock 3.73 with stock tires. If I was doing any wheeling or adding weight I would want to move to 4.56 but I don't.

    This right here. I have 285s on my regular cab with the stock 4.10 gears and armor. It's fine for now, but someday I'd like to go 34+ and at that point I'll regear.

    Check out ecgs for gears and all the help and advice you'll need when you're ready to pull the trigger. Great company

    Thanks ! Definitely will go through the site. Dang all this stuff in the website is new to me. I'll have to study on it.
    It's interesting, I did watch Nitro say that if you have plans to add big tires or load. You should upgrade your gears before you need it. So that's y i wanted to see what other people thought about it

    I know fuel economy is out the window with builds but notice any difference ?

    after talking to ecgs, they recommended i go 4.56 with 33's n armor...waiting on my diff to come in now:angrygirl:

    I have run 4.88s and 5.29s with 33s in my 2.7L 5spd. I have the 5.29s right now and it turns a few too many revs on the hwy for my taste, but its really peppy. If i was to do it over again and stay with 33s id go with 4.88s. If youre planning on bigger than 33s, id go 5.29s and call it a day

    That's awesome ! So would be between 4.56 vs 4.88 that i should choose for my truck
