Off road Manual impossible to get right now, especially for a deal.

got 30k trade in on my 2015 limited with 19k miles. $7k price difference + another roughly $500 in taxes (NY takes the tax off your trade in value so you only have to pay the difference)

absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

 

Would you mind posting the rest of the details of your transaction? Others have been wondering about doing the same thing. In particular from California.

I have that exact truck, but for me sunroof and LED I really wanted. So I am stuck with a tech package. Oh well.

Rinzler: What dealer in AZ? Considering upgrading and I thirst for a moderate road trip

 

a lot of people on this thread were told by Arizona dealers that they wont sell to Cal residents, due to the dmv hassles, so be careful. Hopefully Rinzler can steer you right.

 

OR dealers doing that. No issue with AZ dealers.

Yeah, I can’t remember anybody saying they had a problem with AZ to CA. On this thread at least. It probably is a pain in the butt and I’m sure some dealers don’t want to deal with it.

 

I'm a Californian and had no trouble buying from Kendall Toyota in Eugene, OR in May 2018. Flew up there and drove it home.

 

Long time lurker....looking to buy my first Tacoma. Looking for a Tacoma OR DCLB. The build configuration page insists on including the Technology Package; with a Short Box, the configuration insists on LED lights. Is this a regional thing, or is that the minimum spec the ORs come with now?

 

Regional thing. Tech package and LED is optional

I have tech, led, premium - on my 21 OR DCLB and all 3 packages were options

 

2018 is before Covid. After Covid - no OR dealer will sell to us. I wrote about it before , as I talked to every single dealer

Regional. Conversely, in the Southeast region, you could not get LED headlights which were the ONLY option I wanted without getting the premium $4k package. Really stupid and and annoying. In hindsight, I wish I had driven to Maryland like I planned on but the deal in my area was the best offered.

 

I just ordered a cement TRD sport, 6 speed sale price $35,418 minus whatever incentive is running come May. Kentucky. This is my first new vehicle and I don't feel I had any wiggle room negotiating for an order. Exactly what I wanted though. First Taco.

I found a '21 OR DCSB in the exact configuration I wanted minus the LED headlights. The dealer tells me that the only way to get the LED headlight is as part of the 4k premium package. This this true? I really like the LED, but if what the dealer tells me is true, then I'll settle for this and look into upgrade options myself later. I just don't want to fall prey to dealer's tactics because the Toyota website lets me "build" the LED configuration without a premium package.

 

Not true, I was in a similar situation. Go to a different dealer and order one without a premium package.

 

Lies. LED is a standalone option.

Having a 2021 DLCB OR with LED and premium. I will tell you OEM Led is 100% worth it.

When I looked at inventory, I saw lots of 40K trucks with no LED. I also saw lots of 43K trucks, with premium, and NO led, to me it made no sense.

If I was a dealer, I would get the LED allocation for sure.

Compared to my SR 2018 (regular lights) the LED is a world of difference. I wouldn't get a truck without the LED.

 

Thank you! Unfortunately, it looks like dealers around me aren't even considering that as an option. Not sure if it's laziness or something else.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate the help. I'll definitely pass on this one and continue shopping around. I've been to several Toyota dealers in the area and I haven't seen a single truck that had LEDs! Very strange.
