What version are you on. The Scion tCs are having flash issues and OVT is trying different Flash Tools to fix it.

    Version 1.2.9.8.2 was posted today.

Yup that one 1.2.9.8.2. Just strange that techstream works fine with the ECU. I do have a stable internet connection if that's any help.

I've had that issue before. Try restarting Windows.

Nah. It isn't your connection. I would ping @OVTune on Zendesk or the vF forum to let him know that the Taco you're having trouble flashing also, if @ktbell444 's fix doesn't work.

Restarted twice and tried another PC, no dice. Sent a ping on zendesk hopefully it's a quick resolution.

Can you try a different USB port? I realize Techstream worked but without knowing exactly what triggered the error I wouldn’t rule out an issue with that driver on that specific port. Another thing to check would be your PC’s BIOS and see if it has any USB power management outside of Windows.

Tried all the ports. Even brought down my desktop to the garage that has 12 ports and tried every single one. Still no luck. I'm wondering if the tactrix cable doesn't like USB 3.0, maybe I can set the ports in the BIOS to legacy to force it to use USB 2.0. It's pretty late now gonna have another go with it tomorrow.

Some say it doesn’t like 3.0 but I’ve used mine with 3.0 and never had an issue :notsure:

Mine are 3.x and not an issue but maybe it’s a thunderbolt thing? Legacy seems like a good test. Good luck!

I had this issue on first flash attempt. I tried twice, same error. I closer VFTuner program, started the truck to verify that it would start, turned off the truck, back to ignition on, opened VFTuner and tried again and it worked without error.

Is there an error logger on VFTuner?

I'll give this a try. I just kept cycling through ACC on but never started it. Only time I started it is when I got the error the first time.

Trying to narrow it down a little as I suspect it might be a bad USB cable that came with the tactrix adapter. Not that it would matter a whole lot but the cable is labeled USB 2.0. Gonna find a 3.0 cable and have another go at it.

I don't think you'll be able to find a 3.0 cable since the Tactrix connection uses USB mini, which is only 2.0 capable.

I cannot get my ECU flashed. I've read this thread and saw same problems, but those solutions did not fix it... unless I'm missing one. Picture shows the issue.

    Yikes! You're sticking with 04B00?

Otherwise, there seems to be some flashing issues with the last couple vF versions. @OVTune is trying to discover the problem.

    Whew!

You cannot test flash without the kit. You need the vF / Tactrix adapter to be connected on both ends.

You also cannot flash a vF Tune to a different ECU ID than is on your Taco.

Ah! You have to message OVT to get the ECU ID that you want for the Tune Pack. Be sure that you are one the most current TSB, 04B04. But, I do expect a new TSB to come out for the 2016 through 2018 ATs at any time.

I think that confirms the Flash Tool issue. If you can find any Version 1.2.9.6 or older, that should fix your issue. Version 1.2.9.8 and Version 1.2.9.8.2 seem to have the problem?

Awesome, how do I find the ECU ID? Also, can I put the most current TSB on or should I just go to the dealer?

It was in the Identify option the old, old Flash Tool. That option is not in the current Flash Tool yet.

You can use TechStream to identify and also to flash up the latest TSB. See the 1st Post of the TSB Update thread in my signature.
