    I've taken the mudflaps off?
New guy here, did my due diligence, read all of the stickies on tire sizes and searched the 3rd Gen forums before asking this:

What is the largest tire I can fit (and use offroad!) On my 2021 DCLB Off Road with no lift or spacers and only with CMC and wheel well modifications?

(A little background, I live in CA and drive the truck daily about 200 miles and hunt all over the west, so the Tacoma will be used to get me and all of my gear as far back as I can to set up base camp and I backpack in deep into roadless areas from there.)

I appreciate any first-hand knowledge that anyone can share!

Driving all those miles I would re consider bigger tires. You prepared to regear? oVTUne ? Gas mileage will take a hit as you know. Good luck

265/75/16 if you’re keeping the suspension stock. You can possibly fit a 285 but you’ll have almost no room to take sharp turns or when going over uneven terrain

255/85-16 or 255/80-17 on a stock wheel. If using aftermarket wheels get as close to 0 offset as possible.

Edit - be prepared to see your MPG in the 13-14 range

    I've taken the mudflaps off?
    I appreciate the replies gents.

Seems that if a 265/70R16 will fit with NO modifications, then a Yokohama Geolandar MT in 265/75R16 should fit with no rubbing with only a CMC and light fender liner mods. That's an overall tire diameter of only 30.9" according to Yokohama's website.

Any further thoughts, gentlemen? I appreciate it!

The truck is extremely capable in stock form on the stock kevlar wranglers.
Try that first before doing anything. You may be surprised.

    Skinny 33's.

    No cmc needed.

255/80r16 is the size I think.

Yeah I like the look, but those are too thin for the soft sand and talcom powder-like sand washes I habe to travel while hunting in AZ, CA and NV. Even aired down I'm afraid the contact patch would still be too small.

Great street tire and hard surface tire, but get these things on the muddy logging trails during summer Monson season when I'm up at 8000 feet scouting for elk and they're gonna pack up like chocolate hostess donuts and I'm gonna end up stuck up to my ass. That wrangler is a street tire.

I think the contact patch is going to be pretty much the same size as with a fat pair of 33's. And there is much to be said for having the contact patch spread longitudinal vs latitudinal. Kiss your day goodbye by digging into this thread :) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-skinny-on-skinny-tires.529656/

For the record, one can do 255/75/17's (32's) on stock. So with a CMC, I'm sure 255/80/17's (33's) will work.

I'll also say it's refreshing to see someone focus on the CMC first. Most people are asking "how much lift do I need to fit 33's?", and it's the wrong question - it's not the lift (though at some point it matters), it's the offset/width/CMC that counts.

So you can find all your answers in a sticky thread...

But anyways, since you drive 200 miles + you’ll want to stay away from wide and heavy tires. 255/75, 255/80 is your alley. Yes, you will have enough contact patch aired down; I doubt you’ll be sinking the truck into 4’ deep mud holes. Keep the tires narrow for MPG and to not track on the freeway. Tons of options. Cooper ST Maxx’s may be a good choice for you.
