That is excellent Mark for Lakawanna to be listed with those major companies. Says a lot about the past president and his staff:thumbsup:. Great job.

20210309_155854.jpg My turn for bad weather. It's been raining non-stop since last night, and we're under a flash flood warning until 7:00 tonight.

My backyard is a pond a foot deep, fortunately my house is on a slight slope above the pond, and it drains pretty quickly.

Advice for those of you yet to take the covid shot, make sure you stay well hydrated before & after.

A little something every chance we get.
And thank YOU for that Col, and keep it up. Projects like this are too long swept under the rug! I was going to quote something, but you already know that quote, because you are it!

That is so awesome! Doing anything to end the issue of massive debt accumulated by students to get an education, I'm all in. This sounds like it would do just that, no? Very
    cool Sir.

Good morning, all!! Another visit to the opthamologist this afternoon - hopefully the final check-up for the vitreous detachment.

Stay safe out there - and I hope your flooding has subsided without and house damage @cheech1 !

Good Morning Rob, she is still in bed sleeping. Last night she must have started to feel better because she was nagging me . That is always a good sign. I'll see how she is doing when she gets up. Thanks for asking. Hope you have a great day.

    Morning all:

That's a good sign that the wife is nagging you Ken o_O, if you say so! :D

Beautiful day yesterday, 60+ degrees and started the spring projects. Went to start the garden tractor and no start :annoyed:, went to charge the battery and saw it was 7-8 yrs. old, went and got a new battery. Then, went to start the zero turn and no start :annoyed:, looked at that battery and it was 6 yrs. old, back to get another new battery, boats are next!

Hope the flooding is minor where you are at cheech, higher ground is always good.

    Good morning all,

Well we got a more descriptive amount to expect, we are in the zone to get 2-3 feet starting Friday. We shall see.

Getting my second shot at noon today, Alice is getting her first shot at 1100. Team call today to go over Gov bid, we may still have a shot at it - fingers crossed.

Have a safe day - hope the eye appointment goes well Col.

It is a good sign Carl because it means she is becoming her old self again...thats when I am glad for technology because I turn the volume down on the hearing aids and it's just like wearing ear plugs:D.
I read this article and found it interesting. A lot of the facts I knew but it added a few I didn't. It is a bbit drawn out but worth the read.

You need to put that equipment with batteries on tenders. I was buying ATV batteries 'bout every Spring until I got smart 3-4 yrs ago and started keeping 'em on tenders in the off season. @Tacoma Mike will confirm the need.

    :hattip: Mike
    God lets pray so. :amen:

    Morning all:

Interesting article about the Eastern coyotes Ken.

I agree with keeping batteries on battery tenders, but I have never owned one. Normally I just start the 66 and equipment periodically during the winter. So far it seems that when they get old is the only time I need to charge them in the spring, then it's usually also the time to replace them. The boat batteries are usually fully charged in the late fall, than again in the spring so they are fully charged when needed.
Are you suggesting that I now need 3 onboard chargers, and 3 battery tenders, plus I need to run electric to 2 outbuildings!

Like the guy said.. "I put that chit on everything." I even have a spare, but none have ever failed, so far. Most important during summer, winter temperature extremes.

Batteries: Texas Heat kills them. I get about five years on the lawn tractor, typically four in our vehicles. Glad to see a Tacoma has a 24F battery (a very common size). My 2019 Highlander with Start Stop used a $540 battery, often not lasting three years. I'm not a fan of those systems at all. Loved the Highlander, same engine but used a 3" thick foam cover to dampen the injector noise!

    Battery tenders are good.

I got a TOPDON battery tester (about $50) these are great tools to have for checking batteries.

@boatswain Solar Panel with a battery tender is all you need (cheaper than running wiring, but I have a TV, Wifi, Netflix in the detached building. Handy for when SWMBO goes "you bought what?"

10Watts = 0.8 Amps @ 12V; fine for keeping a battery "topped up". Fancy 120V wall plugs battery tenders have desulfation circuits built-in, so get one and pull the stuff into the shop once a year (I do oil changes annually, so good time to plug in the fancy charger).

I kid, sorry I did not know all the logistics involved. :sorry:
EDIT: You can sell me the 66 ... cheap.

I must have had some GOOD batteries over the years Mike, the one that came in the Deutz Allis 917H lasted 11 yrs., and I had a Delco freedom in the 66 that also lasted 11 yrs. Both needed a spring charge after about 8 yrs, but both would then work all summer and partially through the winter.
I will admit they were the exception rather than the rule, when we went to Maine I would replace the battery in the truck if it was anywhere near close to the months it was rated for, it would have been a long cold walk out of the North Maine Woods if the truck wouldn't start!
Have 2 TM batteries on charge right now, one was showing 71% and the other 73% after sitting all winter, one is 4yrs. old, and the other is 5 yrs. old., just checked and both showing 100% charged, hopefully they are good for another couple yrs.
