Not bad considering it was my first time on the road. Nerves weren't too bad, just at the stop signs since I'm not used to my cousin's bike and the clutch release/engaging points.

The instructor at my MSF wouldn't let me do 2 finger use. But I don't feel as 'in control' with just my palm on the grip so once I buy a bike I'll just swap levers.

You have me thinking now how many fingers do I actually use: 3 or 4? Next time I ride...

on the cbr I think often enough I 3 finger the clutch but I think its arm/finger strength issue, I do two finger it but not sure I would say predominantly
however the front brake I always 2 finger and often enough 1 finger I would say

i cover when needed and dont when not, it would be hard to say anything more because it is just a natural fluid movement that changes all the time as you roll down the street, I think I ride one handed a lot also just puttering around town

not all bikes are the same though, some bikes are much easier to two finger clutch than others just like any other clutch in a car, some are feathers others are heavy

I'm the same way. I brake and clutch with two fingers. Always seemed more comfortable that way. Plus that's the way I was taught was I first started to race moto when I was 14.

@uurx I sometimes brake on the cbr with just 1 finger. I caught myself doing that alot last summer.

Alright y'all, the A-stars jacket got here today and I am PLEASED!

For reference, this is the one, I paid 199 for it, not the 209 it's listed for now:
    https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-domino-tech-hoody?sku_id=1591155

    First thoughts:
    - it is HEAVY
    - feels like a slightly softer north face or similar hard shell jacket, not a hoody material at all
    - packaging was great, came on the hanger with desiccant in the pockets.

    - Had to get a myspace pic in there. I'm 6'2 210lbs with a long torso and am wearing an XL. Hi there, that's me. I need a haircut REAL bad.
    - Sleeves and body are a great length. Definitely fits slimmer rather than wider.
    - the arm armor is STIFF. It's the same material as their nucleon back protectors, not a lot of flex. I'll probably swap out the arm/elbow armor for something with a bit more give like D3O. The shoulder pads, while stiff, I didn't mind. Not a lot of motion in that area anyway.
    - Very pleased with the streetability of it. Aside from the A-stars logo on the front and the text on the back, it doesn't look like a moto jacket
    - the two smaller zips are vents! I think they'll work good because...

    - Underneath this back flap is a big ol' exhaust vent, the whole underneath area is mesh
    - the hood snaps back, love it
    - the logo on the front and this logo on the back are retroreflective, nice touch

    - I was very pleased to see a fully waterproof pocket that's HUGE. Probably 10 inches deep, it swallows my phone.
    - two interior lower pockets on the mesh with a velcro flap to close it
    - The armor took me a while to figure out how to take it out. There is a zipper on the back bottom that gets you into the mesh lining, then you go through the arm. Weird.
    - There are other nice touches. The neck line has a cotton collar, helps keep wind from jumping down the jacket when you have all the vents zipped up. The tops of the sleeves are longer than the bottom and slightly stiff, helps to seal up on the glove cuff. The back has a bit of a tail to it so if you're hunched you're not hanging your crack out there.
    - I rode a couple miles with it after work today in 45 degree ish weather. I wouldn't go much colder than that but I was fine. I'll see later on this year how hot it'll go, but I think it'll be a great 3 season commuter.

Overall would buy again, in a heartbeat.

    I'm also 6'2 but I'm like 240lbs so I'd say probably a 2xl would fit better thoughts?

I would say so. I debated sending it back to try a 2xl myself as it's definitely a slimmer cut and I thought it might be nice having it slightly baggier. I have a 42" chest and it's just about perfect for just the jacket, but I don't think i could get a sweatshirt under there comfortably if I ever wanted to layer with it.

One more thing, it doesn't come with a back protector, but my nucleon out of my old A-stars jacket fit just fine. That extra bit snugged it up some more too.

That’s a good looking jacket! Wonder how a large would fit on me. 6’3” 185lbs. Or the XL might be perfect.
