I’ve done this as well and have been running it for a week or so. It shifts nice. Care to share your single map?

Have you made changes beyond just averaging them all? Also, I didn’t change #1 as that was for 4lo is my understanding. There may have been a few others I didn’t change as Mat’s example didn’t as well.

Also, I’m seeing different ECU’s have different #’s of maps here. 2020’s only have 13, but I also haven’t updated to latest vF until 1.3 comes out with more features.

Any more info on this? I can't find the OVTune post you quoted, search on mobile is terrible.

Edit: found it! Feel free to chime in anyway!

I made them all (except for cold, 4WD, and sport maps) the warm base #1 stock map. I did not do any averaging. Just copied that map's values into the other maps. I haven't put it in 4Lo since doing that, but that is a good reminder that I need to check to make sure 4Lo still operates as intended before I need it.

That’s similar to what I did. Again, I used Mat’s example tune and changed most to match, but there were a few I didn’t and I can’t remember without looking at it which ones I left unchanged. Mat said he forgot to change #17 so I changed that one also.

I live in an area that gets some good snow, has a ton of hills, and plenty of 25mph limits with eager city police.

I’ve taken where I already brought my personal tune, mixed in some of Kregs wizardry, and made some unique changes along the way.

For the past two tanks my 60/40 city highway has averaged 18.9mpg. Cruise at 73-75 in the hills gets into the 20+ range. Inner city stretches of 30-40mph sit consistent around 25+mpg.

The tip in was a little too much for the winter and when behind a slow driver, I adjusted it to my liking. Still retaining the stock feel on VERY light pedal but anything more hits heavy. Power tends to come around 2900RPM under moderate accel (where as stock was damn near 4000).

Idle has been dramatically improved to be smooth and not damage anything. I feel like a 1600rpm cold start being shifted to drive puts too much strain on a transmission and even causes the truck to jolt.

Overall, it’s been a long few weeks of testing and edits. I’ve finally gotten wife approval so I’m assuming it’s good to go.

I have dubbed it “Hills n Thrills”

Did you also use the Warm Base #1 map values for the Efficiency Learn Factor 1-4 and High & Low speed Interpolation?

Yes. I couldn't prove it, but based on the map names I bet this is what makes my truck run better. Whereas before it "learned" to shift when I didn't want to or need to, and other times "learned" not to shift when I wanted or needed it to, now the shifts are predictable all the time. I know how much pedal it will take to downshift, I know how much to let off to get an upshift. Also, it feels like other parts of the learning algorithm have updated to give me some pull at low rpms, where before it would be a dead fish until it downshifted.

No data to prove any of that, but that's how it feels.

That makes sense about the “learning”. I’ll be giving this a shot and seeing how it feels! Appreciate it!

I too would like some feedback or a test driver for a tune. 04B04, Stock Gears, 32" tires (I can change if need be).

Trying to see any different exhaust set-ups affect how it runs.

I meant for my tune, I wouldn't be opposed to trying out yours comparison. I've gotten pretty ideal results with mine but there is always improvements to be made and ideas that can be bounced off each other on here.

Best of luck with the new MnW

    It's a daily driver / performance tune.
    That's the goal anyways

I feel like this is the way we should all be looking to go. I loved Kreg's 4.0 and the earlier MnW. But daily with them started to get tedious in traffic, plus the wife didn't like driving the truck. Both a good and bad feature.

I know I have a few people around Ohio trying out my most recent version. If anyone else would like to give it a shot let me know.

I need to try and get more broad feedback across different road conditions. Cities and hills are one thing, preferably looking for those who are in a mountainous region or super flat region.
