Won't care, will die happy and brain addled. Wild saltwater fish are still very safe as long as you aren't eating Tuna every meal. Hell, we have entire lakes here in NV where everything is a "no eat" due to contaminates.

Gotcha. I grew up on Whidbey Island, went to college in Bellingham and lived in Auburn for 10 years (working mostly in Seattle/Bellevue). Currently live in Redmond, OR (just north of Bend) and the company I work for is based in Portland.

Having said that, you couldn't gift me enough GME to ever move within 50 miles of Seattle or Portland.

So you know the Clinton ferry very well haha. My grandparents lived in Mukilteo for 20 some odd years overlooking Whidbey.

Did you go to WWU? My aunt is a professor there.

For sure. Still a long ass drive to an airport though.

Maybe I'll just buy a helicopter too

    Yes and yes.

We would rarely take the ferry due to wait times etc. Was usually almost as long to drive around than risk missing a ferry or have it be full.

Started at Whatcom Community and transferred to WWU. My wife and I met there while both pursuing applied math degrees.

Like you, I live in the desert now and do miss the ocean. I don't miss all the people though, and 300 days of sunshine a year makes outdoor recreation easier...

I think in a perfect world, I'd like both. House here, and a house on the coast. I grew up in the rain, and I've moved back a couple times over the years. I always end up leaving for one reason or another, but you can't understate how nice it is to have sunshine 3/4 of the year. The flip side of that, is sometimes you just want a damned decent rainstorm or a foggy day.

Last elk I shot was in the Gros Ventres. I've spent a lot of time in Jackson over the years actually.

My retirement plan. 6 months in the US. 6 months in Australia. I did it 10 years ago and never seeing a day with less then 11 hours of sunlight for a year was absolutely awesome.

A deck over conditioned space is a nightmare to keep water proof. When you get ready to build it hit me up and I'll walk you through the best way.

Yeah, I can see water drainage being a big issue there.

That said, it's probably since I didn't move across the country to live in Beaverton, or Vancouver --they already have suburbs and trailer parks in Ohio.
