I'm new to lifts and was just curious as to how i should go by with lifting the front. Should i use OME 885's with stock bilsteins, 5100's with stock coils, or 5100's with the OME 885's?

I'm just looking for maybe 2.5 to 3 inches without spending to much money.

    Why?

I have the billy's set on 2.5 w/ stock coils and it rides great. Just slightly firmer than stock which stock IMO was a little too cushy and floated too much.

    OME lift
I've got a full OME setup and think it can be a bit rough at times but is great for handling. It rides like a sports car and doesn't lean on corners. Offroading alot can give me headaches cause of the roughness and jarring. Overall if you want a good lift either billys or OME do great with aal in the rear. I do however want new UCA's cause my wheel pulls right or left in really bad ruts.

i have OME 885's with bilstein 5100's set at .85. it gives me a true 3" of lift and rides great on-road and off-road. i also have Camburg uca's to correct my alignment. uca's will also improve the ride and are highly recommended for anything over 2" of lift, so check into those also.

here's how she sits to give you an idea.

What are some good UCA's that are relatively inexpensive. I was thinking about getting the 5100's first then a month or two later getting the OME 885's. It's just hard for me to buy stuff where im at now since shipping anything to Alaska cost an arm and a leg.

Camburg has ball joint uca's that you can get for under $400. here's a link http://www.camburg.com/whats-new/ball-joint-upper-a-arms/. you'll be fine with buying everything seperately, thats what i did. i started with OME 885's then later my uca's and 5100's.

You might want to know that the rear billies don't provide any lift. The fronts have an adjustable snap ring with 4 positions for a suspension preload lift. 0, .85, 1.75, and 2.5. It's different for a first gen of course, but that's correct for a second gen. If you are installing new coils with the front billies it is recommended that you set the billies at 0. Though some do well enough with them set at .85.

The rear lift in the above setup would come from the AAL, or add a leaf. The rear tsb will have your rear end riding a little higher then it did stock. AAL lifts usually lose about 1/2 of the extra spring rate they add after about 3 months. Though it depends on usage.

That means that you will usually lose about 1/2" to 1" of the lift added by an AAL after that time. That is, from the lift height you have when the AAL is newly installed. The actual lift amounts from reputable companies for an AAL is usually within 1/4" after the AAL has broken in.

Hopefully that will answer some questions.

thanks that helps a lot. i've got a toolbox too so i should be sitting similarly.

you dont need wheel spacers with 265/75s right? i heard i would need them with the 285s

I had 265/75's on at stock height. Im going to put 285s on with no spacers. But aftermarket wheels with a 4.5 back space make it better.
