Hi guys, I just purchased and installed the Smittybilt Overlander Gen 2 RTT. I am extremely impressed with the tent overall, as it seems Smittybilt really looked into the most common issues and complaints for the first Gen and made improvements.

My main concern is that where the ladder mounts sit, they are bound to tear a hole in the cover eventually. The ladder came with a pair of small 4 layered pieces of fabric and I’m thinking that’s what they are for, but I’m at work and can’t post a picture or look at any instructions at the moment to figure out how they’re supposed to be used. If anyone knows what I’m talking about and has a solution, that would be awesome. Thanks a lot guys!

I know this doesn’t help with your particular issues, but thought I’d add that I got my tent at 4WheelParts in Canada and got the additional warranty option. 3 years any rips or tears you return it and get a replacement.

I ordered from 4wheelparts as well, but not entirely sure whether I got any sort of warranty. Definitely didn’t add anything I didn’t have to, wallet wouldn’t allow it lol.
Does your cover sit tight on the ladder mounting brackets as well? Just making sure I’m not the only one concerned about this. Thanks for your reply!
