What purpose does this serve? Is it like a performance thing? I've seen a couple of these but never ask lol

It pulls oil out of the PCV GAS before it goes back into intake. This is way more beneficial for direct injection engines since the valves don’t get sprayed with fuel to “clean them off”. Without that cleaning, you get burnt oil build up on the valves reducing airflow

So it's not really beneficial for our engines?

I know what you mean man. I’ve done a few jobs myself so I’m pretty comfortable wrapping my truck.i was quoted at 3,500$ only because I don’t have the time to do a job that big. But I figured I can do one panel at a time every weekend, since I only get sundays off. I trow a lot of stuff around in it so I have to take care of it however I can.
and no, it’s Cerakote in that 9 .

Less so? It can’t hurt I guess. To be Honest haven’t read up on the benefits for port injected engines. I just make sure to give mine the ol Italian tune up once in a while to clean the valves. My prior car was direct injected and the valves were naaaaasty before I hit them with walnut shells around 70k miles. Then i installed the catch can. This was turbocharged so it also had the added fun of blowoff gases in the intake

Lol nice. I was considering adding one of those newer civics to the stable since they seem to be so efficient on gas but they're direct injection as well lol and hearing how nasty the valves were just at 70K doesn't give me super reliable vibes lol

This. More beneficial with forced induction also, but it certainly won't hurt on the Tacoma. Seems an average of a few ounces of oil vapor is collected in between oil changes.

Finally drove it to work. Been working remote since this time last year, had a few new employees come into the office so we brought some of the team in. One of the guys that works for me picked up a 5th gen 4runner during the work from home and decided to park right next to me. We are planning to hit up badlands offroad park together this summer to have some fun.

I have been looking at the ones from Knukoncepts for awhile. I’ll probably end up going with those but the billets are pretty cool.

Not sure. I haven't installed mine yet. I haven't seen anyone else mention that they needed longer + and - factory cables though.

The Positive will reach with slack remaining, the negative as well, even if you choose to clip off the end and use the compression lug. Though in doing that you need to replace the ground strap.

Oh, I didn't realize you were doing the wrap yourself. Yeah, I can't justify $3500.

I can rattle can my truck for less than a hundred bucks including tape and all other necessary stuff, and if I need touch-up paint it's five bucks at Home Depot. I think I'll stick with that...

Honestly the walnut blasting wasn’t that hard once the manifold came off. Just requires a media blaster at minimum, and a special adapter if you wanna avoid a huge mess. I wouldn’t let it stop me from having a fun car in the stable. The wife takes care of that for me

Where’d you get the brake lines? I want to put some on mine, but haven’t found any that seem worth the money.

You have to be careful getting plugs and electronics from EBay and Amazon. They are known to be Chinese knockoffs. I replaced my plugs in the fall. I got them from the dealer. They were only around $24 for all 6 with tax included.
