I've been using the battery tenders on motorcycles for 25 years after consistently proving that it they at least doubled the life of the batteries here in arizona.

I also started plugging in the cars and trucks about once every month or so realizing that most of the time they would take a topping off charge for a few hours before green lighting... Especially if most of the trips were pretty short in between.

If you're really into batteries check out the Lifeline brand. It's what I sometimes have to bet my life on offshore sailboat adventures in the Pacific.

Hey y'all. Been in here lurking for some time now. I picked up my 2021 TRD OR Dbl Cab Super White last week. Already have over 700 miles on her. Love it so far. Going to look into some better Low Beam and Fog Light bulbs for the future. Other than that, I need a new cell phone to link up with the Etune system. My old 6S won't do the trick at all. POS.
Looking forward to making a few, very few modifications but, I'm thinking with Tacomas going 300k miles if properly maintained, This may be my last rig. After all I am 63.
Looking forward to seeing what I can learn in here from you all.
Oh, wife and I are planning to move by June up to TN, outside of Knoxville area. We'll rent for 6-12 months to see exactly where we want to settle and then buy. Besides this economy and administration are going to lead us down the path of Inflation and so much more, being cash rich will be a good thing for awhile.

Welcome to the porch Carl. 63? You are but a youngster. Good people here, you’ll enjoy this place. Don’t forget to fill the cooler. Out of curiosity what takes you to Tn. I’ve only been to Tn. once, spent a week in Nashville listening to music and drinking copious quantities of whiskey. I’m told I had a great time. Thought Tn was a beautiful state.

Good morning, everyone!! And, welcome Carl! Good report from the opthamologist yesterday - another 6 weeks of probation and then check in with my regular eye doctor. SNow is melting quickly - still seeing flocks of geese heading north and the migratory birds are moving out/in. Saw the first robins yesterday. Meanwhile, they are still ice fishing on the lake at the State Park a mile from our house.

    Be safe out there!

Welcome to the thread Carl. Post up a few pics of your new Tacoma.

Have any of you received spam emails asking you to take a Covid 19 survey and state the manufacture of the vaccine shot you received? I am not pleased that the state, county, or entity that made it possible for me to receive the shot sold my email information. :amen:

    Good Morning All

We made it out to cabin before the snow started. Nice uneventful ride in, trail in good shape.
3 AM now, it appears the snow has stopped and accumulation looks closer to the bottom end of the 4-8 predicted. Bear and I sitting here in log cabin by the woodstove enjoying our first cup of coffee and watching True Grit.
Have a great day everybody, we certainly will.
    Respects :hattip:

    Good Morning folks.
Welcome to the porch Carl. I am waiting for delivery of my 21 TRD OR SBDC. Not due in until 4/5 to 4/12 time frame. Enjoy the thread and join in with a post or 2 .

Just so's I don't get confused, Carl @boatswain can I just call you boats...easier on the old brain cells. I saw this article on Fox website about a 1963 Tubine Chrysler. I saw them a the NY Worlds Fair when I was a kid. It would look good next to the 66. I hope this hyperlinks.
Ultra-rare 1963 Chrysler Turbine car sold to mystery buyer

Have a great day folks and be safe.

Good morning y'all. Hope everyone is well. Survived the second shot with no reactions except a sore arm, but that's easy.
And yeah, battery tenders will save you lots of money. Golf cart and race car are both on a dual tender.

    Good morning all,
Welcome Carl. Went out to shed yesterday tried to start xmark zero turn. It started on the first try. Shut it down and tried again. Started up once again. I just let it sit and idle for about 10 minutes and shut it down. Wow. I was not expecting it to start. It made my day.
Just looking into traveling to Cincinnati Oh to see oldest son and family. Its been a year and a half. Wife and I have our vaccines but they don't. Should we stay at their house or get a motel? None of them are vaccinated and she is a teacher with 3 high schoolers and a college sophomore. He works from home and is a head hunter We want to watch the grandsons baseball games as we haven't been able to yet. He signed a letter to play baseball at the University of Pittsburg. We shall see how this all works out.
Well that is enough from W Michigan. Everyone be healthy, wealthy, wise and safe. Have a great day.
    Russ

    Good morning all,

Welcome Carl, great bunch of people on here. Good news Col, enjoy the day MQQSE, have to admit a little jealous of your place .
No side affects with second shot other than a little more arm pain - thanks for the reminder Col on doing push-ups after the injection it did seem to help. Alice didn't and wouldn't take Tylenol until around 2300 when I told her to either take some or I was going to take the dogs and sleep down stairs - low pain threshold I guess - her first shot.

Well, depending on which TV station you watch we could be in for the 20 year blizzard or get our usual 12-18" of the white stuff, most of the property is bare now with the warmer temps we have been getting but that will start to change later today. Have the tender on the quad - it does seem to help longevity of those smaller batteries, first battery was replaced after nine years.

Russ, everything I have read shows that after two weeks of getting the second dose you have the best chance to fight off the VID if exposed. They (CDC) do suggest wearing the mask while around groups in close environments especially when the others have not received the vaccine yet. Tough call, we are planning on doing some road trips later once Alice gets her second and the two week window to go east and see family and her two kids (26 and 32) but that will likely be two months from now and a lot will have changed by then - again.

Have a great day and be safe

COFFEE! Snow on the ground this morning. Hoping it is six feet in the mountains but that's unlikely. Tomorrow I get a bunch of parts for the wreck. I took a maiden voyage in it without rear shocks just around the neighborhood because the bed is off and no tail lights, and when I got it up to 45-50 on a short straight away it got a little jiggy. Otherwise the drive was confidence building.
Also got our appointments for Covid #2, for next Tuesday. Wife is chomping at the bit to go see the new grand-kid.

A little something every chance we get.
Good Morning Porch and welcome new-comers!

Glad to hear that everyone is succeeding health-wise, and happy to report that I survived my heart cath just fine, after a day of (being told to) do nothing. Bandage is off, relaxation meds worn off, and time to go shopping for some plants in a bit. Time to get back in the yard and working outside again! Vitamin sunshine, and sweat equity!

    Y'all be good!

Figured as much Carl; I'm strategizing how to position my Kristi to inherit one of her Dad's...that 65 would be nice. But alas, that very tough, very Cool Old Dude will likely outlive us all; and I hope so. :)

47 tires? ... self induced misery ... reckon it keeps you busy and prevents mayhem levied against the general populace. ;) :)

Have yourself a fine day Sir! :hattip:
