Oh, sweet. I just assumed you could only turn them on from the integrated power button on the light. Might have to do some more research into them. Wonder if you could run three in series (one for each door panel) and control them with one switch.

    i dont see why not!

but yeah you can have external switch and the button all at the same time so basically you can keep the switch on the light on and use a power switch or vice versa

by the time you buy 2 red and 2 white lights for the bed, it’s basically cheaper and easier to just use one of these. I was going to go KC cyclones but decided on one light rather than 4.

Any idea where to buy? Equipt1 is the only US site I can find and they only have clear or yellow. Clear and red or clear and yellow are out of stock. Can you share a pic of how it lights up the bed?

I live in denver so i bought mine from Juniper Overland locally. If you call them, they will ship it to you. Also, if you go to national luna site and use the find a dealer locator tool, you may have a dealer close

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Which portable panel did you end up with?

there has been some decent talk about them on the gfc forum, although we dont have them, we did however recently pick up the joshedgardesigns.com step up and magspots. which are pretty cool and handy

yeah i think he has cool designs. I always forget to charge or turn off the battery powered lights. In the winter the cold really affects them too. Basically i sometimes - potentially - every now and again - may get too drunk at camp and need to child proof my lights

So as my posts says I don’t have a portable... my 200W and DC/DC charger has never failed to keep up.

Our traveling companions run an Overland Solar Bugout 120 (which has been replaced with the 130 now) and it works amazing!

I’m going to review a portable again since I’ve been carrying to canoes on my rack that cover solar much much more often lately. If I do make the purchase it’ll be the updated Bugout 130 that’s now US made.

For those of you who have an awning mounted to the rear of your GFC...are you using the GFC universal mounting brackets?

I bought a set when I picked up my V2 camper, but when I got home and held them up I found that the lift rail sticks out too far. The mounting bracket doesn't seem to work on the back side. Wondering whether this is a V2 thing or has it always been the case?

I’m pretty confused about the angle of the photo I’m looking at right now. I have the V2 with a mounted awning and I don’t have a lip up top like that anywhere and the side doors open fully without hitting at all.

EDIT: that’s the back door and I have the same lip. You have to customize a mount for that.

Correct, I'm talking about the back door.

It's kind of a bummer they don't mention on the website that the bracket doesn't work on the back. The product description does say "compatible with awnings such as Rhino-Rack, ARB, CVT, Frontrunner and EEZI-AWN, as well as a number of side mounted accessories," but that didn't really trigger my brain to think it wouldn't work on all sides.

Do you feel like the coverage with your side awning is useful? I've been debating on those...seems like you have to side right next to the truck to get out of the sun.

Here's a side view with my ARB deployed--this is the 6'X8' one--8' out, 6' wide
    Hope this helps...

Here's where I'm at on solar now too for the other discussion above... the Goal Zero stuff makes me happy so far... not much thinking involved for hookups, did take some creativity to mount the panels and run the wiring... it's running the fridge on it's own at this point, plenty of sunny days lately--and seems to make it 2-3 days if it's cloudy, but it also hasn't been hot here yet. enjoy...

You can also see the lower Gecko lights here too...
