New Taco owner, first one. 21 DCLB SR5, black with grey wheels. Only mod so far is the led dome light bulb cause I’m old and it’s hard to see.
My son says we need to black out the chrome badges, and I may do that.
Thinking of a small lift and more aggressive tires. Maybe the led headlights. Already learned a lot on the forum. Thanks!

    oh.....$32,000

Yes, the other option is the upgrade afterwards. It will cost you $1500 vs the $500 msrp sticker option to add the OEM Toyota LED headlights & fog lights yourself.

It is true in the southeast region but I thought that was the only place this is the case.

Interesting! If this applies to the west coast as well, then I really don't want to miss out on this truck.

Where did you end up purchasing your truck from? I don't mind traveling anywhere and spending more to work with an honest dealer.

I wouldn’t be so sure though. Southeast Toyota aka SET Cartel is One of the only regions not run by Toyota so they have their own ways of doing things. For example, the incentives that apply to the rest of the country do not have apply here. There is no such thing as customer cash/rebates from Toyota. I would do some digging and see if you can find any under an MSRP of 41,000 or something like that that don’t have the premium package and have LEDs. As I said a couple pages back that is one regret that I wish I got them. Would be worth the trip to Arizona in my opinion. I just did a quick search on the cars.com and they have some available there.

sorry for the misinformation on a Cali resident not being able to buy in AZ, looks like that is okay. Looks like Cali residents may not be able to buy from OR. I should have hit the search function before opening my pie hole. I hate it when I read bad info or advice on the net because its burned me before, I hate it more when its coming from me! I should know better... Good luck to you all.

If you're willing to wait you can always do a factory order and specify the exact packages you want. I checked with a bunch of Bay Area dealers for this. Some wouldn't acknowledge that factory order was even an option, but others were fine with it. Both San Francisco Toyota and Toyota Marin were willing to do factory orders for me. That said, I've been waiting for several months now due to issues on Toyota's side (not the dealer), so there are drawbacks with this option too... My build is unusual though so you may have better luck timing-wise.

I almost did a Factory order with Toyota Marin. Funny thing was - the things I wanted, I could get them in midwest states already built or allocated, and their prices were WAY better than the MOBster stealer CA prices. 800-1200$ was shipping from most midwest dealers, and even PAYING those prices, you would come out WAY ahead, than buying local.

    That was my experience

Really!!? I didn't realize you could get them shipped from the midwest. I knew I could fly somewhere and drive it back but didn't want to deal with that during covid. Did you do everything over phone/internet or did you go there to do paperwork/pay and then have them ship it?

    Phone/Internet.

Shipped to my door. with 3 miles on the clock. Seat wrappers in place, so that my fart would be the first on my leather seats. Stopped buying new cars in CA about 10 years ago. Save tons of money, buy outside.

I was doing my weekly check of Manual TRD off roads on autotrader at about 6pm on a Sunday, I had range set at 250 miles, and one shows up 5 miles from me, no picture yet as it was fresh of the truck. I setup first available appt next day at 8:30 am @ McGee toyota. I show up, truck is waiting and running, quick scan of my license and I am off on solo test drive.

3 hours total and I took truck home. I was trading in a VW passat, I had a Carmax offer in hand down the street for $7300, and I had my edmunds true price number on the truck for my area. The first pass we were off by 3.5k off where I wanted to be. I got them to come within $500 of the carmax offer, which once you factor in the sales tax saving u get from trade in made it a wash.

Sticker was $37,613 for DCSB OR 6MT with tech and floor mats, I paid 36,500. As we are finalizing price, another salesman ask my guy if truck is sold, as he has a guy coming to drive it at 10. He had drove 1.5 hours from western mass, felt a little bad for the guy.

On a side note, he said they were getting calls on all there Tacoma's from all over New England, but with the local demand, Covid state travel rules at the time, and RMV process, they were not selling to people out of state, and they still couldn't keep trucks on the lot.

I am new on here and have been wanting to buy a Tacoma for awhile. I am located in Washington state and looking at a 2021 OFSB with
    -bed lighting
    -mudflaps
    - all weather floor mats and sill protectors
    -Led headlights

Msrp is $39,500 with rebates it’s priced at 37,300 before taxes and fees

    Does that seem fair?

    Yup.

Try this place and have it shipped. I’m not sure about how this would work but does the dealership really need to know where you live up until the actual signing of the papers? Worse comes to worst the transferring of the title and the Ca. emissions might just be on you to figure out. But if you get to the point with them that you’re already put down a deposit and everything I would think they would figure it out. They definitely can. A price even in this ballpark is going to be five or six grand less than a premium package tacoma.

Yes when you buy, dealership wants residence and DL, so they can calculate all taxes.

In my years of buying out of state, some dealers collected all TTL, and my plates came in mail in CA, while other times they collected price of vehicle only, and doing paperwork and paying TTL to CA was my responsibility. 99% of my experience out of state dealers use a 3rd party registration service.

one additional thing I have found buying tacoma/land cruisers - due to new ones being exported out of country, some dealers have export list they will verify against, to make sure you are not a straw buyer.
