Basically have it mounted to my camper shell prinsu and there is a lot of rubbing on my cab shell prinsu. Going to get some rubber gasket material and create some chafing gear to remedy that until the quick release system is available.

I’m also worried about how easy it is to get off. Awesome for putting it in the garage when you’re not using it, but all it takes is a #5 Allen key and 3 minutes you can have the mounts undone. Not ideal if I want to park at a trailhead and go for a 3 hour bike ride.
(I’ve recently had my garage broken into twice so I’m a bit paranoid with theft)

Edit: I know pin head bolts can help but the bolt is still exposed with the mount and handheld bolt cutters are very much a thing that thieves have in their toolbox.

I ordered it the day they announced it! Haha I was stoked. My reservations aside, it is an awesome tent. Super comfortable, held up really well in the wind, and the setup time was less than 2 minutes. B0566296-AA14-45D3-86A7-F983A74325F4.jpg

Hmm i cant think of any good solutions for locking it...maybe drill a hole through the prinsu and tent's mounting surface and run a cable lock through it? Not sure if that would work as I still have not seen the bottom of the Superlite.
As for the rubbing could you put some aluminum blocks between the rack and the tent? (Thinking of rear lift blocks). Another option would be to sell your prinsu and buy a half rack like this one Sherpa offers https://sherpaequipmentco.com/shop/animas to accommodate for the overhang. Not ideal but I'm just trying to brainstorm....
Here is another half rack, by Martin https://martinor.com/shop/foundation-camper-rack

I was thinking the same thing but with the tent taken off the truck that would look a little strange. I’m pretty sure the quick release system will help and remedy this problem so that’s good.
As far as security I’m still worried. Same thing, I’d like to not have to drill into the tent, but maybe I can find a way to lock something into one of the channels or something like that? I’ll post here if I can think of any good ideas.

I do like the aluminum block/spacer idea too, might be a good option.

This is also something I'm worried about. Seems like the quick release could be lockable with a pin or something...not sure if that will be incorporated into the design though.

I was also trying to solve for this problem and ended up going with a Yakima Overhaul HD set up. Adjustable height should let it work for everything.

Do you mind sharing a pic of your setup? I've got a yakima overhaul and i'm interested in doing the same.

I don't have a tent to share photos of yet on my Overhaul, unless you're wanting to just see the Overhaul HD racks and bikes? I ended up getting a Thule Tepui Explorer Ayer 2 for $1,040 instead of a Superlite, not sure if pics of that setup would be helpful for you or not when I get the tent.

I got my tent mounted and am loving it! It fits great on my Prinsu rack.

I also made some mounting blocks for ARB fly rods to prop open the side doors. the mount bolts to my Prinsu rack. I've made a couple of sets for some other folks and they seem to work on all Prinsu racks and some UpTop racks. I don't believe these will work with Sherpa, but I'm thinking of another option.

Great idea! Seems to be what this tent is missing. Did you do the GFC mattress?

yeah, I got the GFC mattress. it's great and very convenient. we were thinking about doing inflatable camping pads but there isn't any setup time required for the GFC one.

Thank you for bringing up your concerns. I am in the process of sitting up all night, every night, mulling over putting in an order for this tent. Would like to hear them address this issue or come out with that quick release as well, before I personally place an order.
Part of going this tent route would be so that I could remove the tent when needed and access my topper and cab rack when needed... having to get a habitat or camper half rack would make or break this purchase.

hope that they get you sorted with answers too buddy!
