The thing is, would it be overgrown everywhere or in some areas?
i do not know swisha, that's why i wonder if anyone knows the south side. It could be that the south side is very different from the north line

How many days were you thinking of going for? It would probably take a day to get from Plevna to Pembroke. And another day to get back. Add more days if you want to get into Quebec.

    2 or 3.
If doing that route of Plevan - Pembroke and back takes 2 days, then it could be an option to just do that. Swisha Loop on the south side seems to be too rough in the spring. I got a report just now that in that area of swisha, a truck got submerged and written off.

The first day of the Round Algonquin trip last July took basically 12 hours to get from the cottage near hwy 62 to close to Pembroke. That was with 4 trucks and not a lot of really technical sections. In spring time when water levels are higher, and you have more trucks and more technical sections your pace will be a lot slower than expected.

the red more northern side of the trail on your map is chunky gravel road that would *likely* be good to roll in May unless its been a seriously wet spring by that time. the orange option may or may not be passable but even it is it will be overgrown and scratchy AF. i would def avoid the orange.

i took the red option heading toward rolphton and i remember some short but pretty greasy decents. might make for a few tough climbs in the other direction.

i incorporated the round algonquin route that @Shveet gave me into a larger route that started in Barrie, did Picard, Pencil, some other trails i forget, Mazinaw, Swisha, went north over Algonquin to Bonfield lookout and ended at Ardbeg. i then did the route with a buddy last year over 8-9 days but beyond that i have never shared it. fwiw if theres concern, i had no idea @ODSC1 's cottage is even on the route and now that i know i wouldnt be able to even guess where it is and i may have already edited it out.

i think i do have a good handle on the best parts of the whole route and good camp spots and plan to refine it to cut out the less good parts and do it again in a week or less. i am interested in joining a spring run and could help plan a route if needed. i have a ton of GPXs and routes cause thats my thing.

yeah i learned that it was my mistake as the file was uploaded to the google drive with all of the event photos. that was entirely my fault.
seems like it has all been cleared out now, at least what i could make of it.

if over time we can make an "ultimate" map, from cutting out the so-so parts of the trail and splicing/ redirecting to some more exciting stuff, that'd be an awesome run to do.

there was a few off-cut trails me an @ODSC1 passed by when doing the pipe line above Algonquin, we hit a muddy puddle crossing that marked a "no turning back" scenario for us so we never backtracked to check out the trails.

Suggest earlier to keep the bugs down, May 15 or May 22 (which is Victoria Day long weekend this year).

Can't do may 22nd. May 15 may be a bit tight for the guys that go to ardbeg, in case there is "technical problems"

Following. Read first post, that's about it - don't know if there's room for +1, maybe +Dog, AND I'd have to check border crossing regs.... That's our Memorial day weekend in the colonies so, I have an extra day to play with.

    CAN I PLAY!?

Edit: I've just looked, I am a no-go legally right now, but I will continue to monitor and if it changes in the next few months prior to this, as long as I can get the time off work and there's room in your cool kids club, I'm in.

This thread gave me a headache :)

    What's the dates?
    What's the meetup location?
    Where are we going.
    Is this trip stock friendly?

    Thank you.
