I'm looking to upgrade my system I just got my 2018 and not impressed with the system. Especially the GPS (this Scott GPS with app sucks) I found a company Infotainment that has an 3.0 system with android auto. And it uses factory plugs. So my question basically is how good is it versus tha aftermarket ones?

They aren’t good compared to aftermarket, and are EXTREMELY expensive compared to aftermarket.

Yeah, I sure as hell wouldn't be spending $2K+ on the Entune 3.0 unit. Kind of the problem right now is the options for replacing it are the suck. One is a smaller 7" screen conventional aftermarket double DIN stereo, another is that stupid ass floating screen shit and finally the OMGWTFBBQCHICKEN Android units, which I'll only have if I fucking die and someone puts it in my casket. When I replace my Entune 3.0 it won't be any of those options.

The pioneer 6600 and 7600 actually fit almost perfect in the premium radio bezel with no modification, and without having to “float”

(photos stolen from 6600 flush mount thread)

I’m probably going to end up selling my 8400 and going for the 7600. I don’t use the dedicated nav anyway

Stock headunit is garbage. The UI is clunky and dated. Mine keeps having freezing issues and Toyota technicians at dealerships can't even figure the thing out. I say go aftermarket and never look back. Thats what I plan to do soon.

Those look really good! I just can't do Pioneer right now. I'm on the Excelon XR tit at the moment. I sorta hate the Pioneer UI, unless it's changed. I haven't messed with their newest models at all yet.

I learned that once you got used to one UI, the other one sucks lol. I personally never liked Kenwood’s ui because I was used to pioneer. It’s crazy how a person’s experience effects things like that.
A part of me also wants to stick with pioneer because I’m lazy and I already have the RR wired up lol

Just do like I did and give your Tacoma to your wife and get another truck! I looked into replacing the head unit and Pioneer seemed to have the best options, dedicated nav, carplay, etc, I just bought a wireless charging phone mount instead and saved $700.

Oh yeah that is so true. I went from Clarion to more newer bigger Clarion one time and I basically didn't have to do anything, it upgraded itself!

Clarion has turned to shit so I don't buy them anymore. IDK what happened, someone bought them maybe. They basically suck now, but they used to be wonderful sounding and long lasting units.

They’ve been sold and bought and merged and absorbed across several Japanese conglomerates over the years. Their marine stuff stayed good, but I think JL took over the marine products a few years ago.

Sucks, same thing happened to Harman Kardon I think. They’ve all but given up on home theater. I used to really like their stuff.

Yeah Harmon has bought or merged with darn near everyone at this point, including JBL, Infinity, B&O, Crown, and some smaller ones I don’t remember. Then Samsung bought the whole thing. So now Samsung owns Harmon, who owns almost everybody else. Monopolies at their finest
