    Almost forgot about this.AC1170F0-2D71-4570-A43B-924E1D66892F.jpg

Obviously not for a kid still in a car seat but once they graduate to a booster seat, I highly recommend them.

Those diono car seats are worth every penny. I can fit 3 in the back seat of my taco.

I mean sure you can but it’s so much easier in a van. Can go get lumber if it’s raining and what not. I would have gotten a Ford transits connect if they had 8’ of load capacity but they don’t

I get your point, but its hardly easier. Stacking sheets of 4x8 in a van requires preparation and cleaning afterward. Forget about throwing a bunch of pavers or gravel or something loose like that.

Dad fight, dad fight!! haha. I actually traded in a BMW when I built my house back in 2005. I was putting materials in the back of this $40K car, then ended up buying a $40K truck instead. Oh well. The bed was easier to clean.

I used a small bungy to attach a 9 or 12" long LED light to the back of the passenger seat heat rest post. It was a plug in style and I could give my little guy light when traveling at night with no glare for the driver. He did a lot of reading (few iPads at the time), so light was a big deal.

I grew up in the 60's/70's. We had a 69' Chevy wagon with a canvas wagon tent. One wall of the tent enclosed around the back of the wagon. Being the youngest I slept in the back bench seat, Mom and Dad in the back of the wagon and two older sisters in the tent.

My first thought was, "nope. definitely not needed." but then I started thinking about it and when my oldest falls asleep in the car now she is in the most awkward and unsafe positions. I may look into one of these.

I wish I'd have found this when we were trying to find car seats that would fit. We couldn't find any and ended up trading the 4Runner :(

LOL, I came in here to post that same product. They are available in cloth as well, and the grey cloth version matches 2nd Gen interior nicely. We do long drives across the state periodically, and after switching to a booster seat these are immensely useful so your kid stays upright sleeping vs slouched over like a rag doll. My kid really liked them and I would highly recommend it. Worked on my 2nd Gen, didn't fit on my Gladiator though.

One other generic one I would add, step sliders. Useful for kids getting in and out of the truck, especially if lifted.

You showed your wife TW? How are you going to explain all the money missing in your bank account and the ridiculous time spent online going down the rabbit hole here?

You should have just told her all the awesome ideas you've had to make the truck more comfortable for the kid and looked like a genius.....

First Rule of TW is don't show the wife TW.........

I tried to treat TW like Fight Club but with some of the replies that have me laughing out loud she figured it out... My wife actually sees some of the mods on here and suggest I do them because she finds them cool or useful. I am currently working on getting her to understand the need to get predator step sides and get rid of my current ones. Also how deleting the Chrome on the interior will reduce glare from the sun which is safer for when I drive around.

See, there you go. Armor = crash protection for the baby. Lighting = road hazard detection... for the baby. Suspension = a better ride, you guessed it,... for the baby. Just refer to TW as a Professional Learning Community. It kind of shines up the whole "bros in trucks" image. It's all in how you package it.

There you go. You are only limited by your creativity. Just remember, kids grow up so there is a window. you have to get in there before the wife starts thinking about college savings.
