EDIT: It's not the ScanGauge :)

I know there are a couple old threads about this. I had posted this to a previous thread but later realized that thread was in the new members section and might not even get noticed. There were a couple other old threads for flashing ABS but not quite the same so I copied my post and created this new thread. Hope that's ok

So yesterday morning on the way to work the ABS light started flashing but only when stopping and pressing the brake pedal. When I release the pedal the light goes off. This is the first time the ABS has ever flashed since I have owned it. The funny thing is I just put a ScanGauge 2 in the truck for the first time that very morning. I've read about some getting the flashing ABS after connecting a ScanGauge. And this is why that's the funny part. By "in the truck", I mean still sealed in the package on the passenger side floor, Ha! So obviously the ScanGauge had nothing to do with it - just happened to be that morning. So, after work I had forgotten about it and wasn't even thinking about the ABS. I don't think it came on all the way home but maybe I was distracted or something or not as noticeable in the brighter light. I really doubt it but not 100% sure. I had the ABS module rebuilt maybe six months ago but no ABS light at all since then until yesterday. Also had the drivers side CV axle replaced about 12 days before this light coming on yesterday, again, with no ABS light after the CV axle replacement until yesterday.

Anyone have any idea what may have caused the ABS flashing? Maybe related to the axle replacement? I will drive it again today and see if it does it again.

When I purchased the UltraGauge for my '03, I had to purchase an "isolation cable" because of the same issue you are having.
If you look below, you may be able to do option 2 to correct the problem. Not sure.

Hey, thanks a bunch for the help. But it's actually not the ScanGauge. I hadn't even opened it yet. Maybe just mentioning the Scangauge caused confusion. It was just funny that it happened on the day I was planning to connect the ScanGauge for the first time.

I had an OBDII plug in that would set of my ABS light if I took the plug in out while the truck was running, it was weird. I had to shut the truck off in order to remove the plug-in to avoid the light.

Never had that issue with my Scangauge though
