    lol yup!

Figure it's a good use for the printed fire control group in a printed receiver - not a firearm and inherently single shot, after all.

    Back home and re-assembled.
Check out how much clearance there is for the 509T with the Safariland hood.

I normally don't mind spending a few extra bucks on my equipment, as I have learned the value of buying quality. Saturday night, I was doing my monthly testing of batteries in my ready handguns and rifles. The batteries were dead in a 4 month old Surefire XC-1B. I tried replacing the batteries and the unit was stuck in a constant condition, while the constant on switch was in the off position. I tested it both ways and it would not turn off. This is the third XC-1 that has failed on me over the last two years. Surefire will replace them, but that doesn't fix this kind of failure rate. I just purchased my third Olight BALDR .... I'm done with the XC-1 series .... when they replace this one, I'm selling it.

    InkedIMG_0180_LI.jpg

Update: Surefire's response was to send a new tail cap. They claimed the tail cap was probably damaged by battery corrosion (battery was fine - no corrosion). Definitely selling.....

I’ve had similar experiences with the one XC-1 I own. As you mentioned, Surefire replaced it. However, battery life and button / lever function continue to be problematic.

Way too expensive to have that many issues. Great concept, poor execution in my humble opinion.

This is the best “night sight” I’ve used yet.
I’m still playing with the settings on the 509T but this brightness seems to work well interior and exterior with and without the light.

Which ACSS reticle do you want? The Vulcan looks interesting but I haven’t used one to see how intuitive the large circle guiding you to the dot is, and I’m not real familiar with the horseshoe ACSS reticle.

Let me know how you like it, I don’t have any perspective builds that I would use one for and I think any pistol I get a dot on will have the 509T but I’m curious to hear how you like it.
