Be careful not to cut yourself.
And kinda figured, or it was a performance exhaust for your clothes drier.

I gotta get finer mesh. The stuff in the picture is like 1/4" squares and won't stop anything but big debris. Tired of pulling my cabin filter and it being covered in tree crap. Plus I gotta mesh both ends of that section of cowl to prevent anything coming into the intake too.

Buying a new hole saw just for this and not cheaping out this time. Hopefully no ER visits *knock on wood*

I mean, it does suck. :rimshot:

I had the same problem with my AVS that I installed Wednesday evening. With the heat, and pressure from the window, the adhesive stuck onto the surface quite well and now my windows roll up and down nicely. Guess it’s like window tint, don’t roll down your windows for a week to avoid any mishaps.

Another mod done. Glad I wont have to worry about the rain and mud in my wheel well getting sucked in anymore.
    Screenshot_20210321-222814_Instagram.jpg

Wish I couldve left out the smog pump. Look at all that extra space.... couldve relocated the winch controller there and no ziptie it to my rad hose.....:anonymous:

Took a lot of restraint not to yeet that thing...
Take note of my custom Extra-Reach Bolt Extractor™

    20210320_174331.jpg
No going back! Also did a 1inch hole on the left inner side of the cowl for extra air flow.

    20210320_182045.jpg
First test fit, perfect. Ran to Home Cheapo and got some extra tools, since tools are nice. Particularly a file set since I needed a round file to clean up those edges.

Didnt hook back up the SAIS pump and it ran fine so :notsure:
After I started it back up leaving the store though....
    20210320_191443.jpg
Its weird that it disables traction control? Still ran fine but I reconnected it and cleared the code for now. :burp:

    20210321_193909.jpg
Couldnt find any black paint to touch up the gutter mesh I used after I cut it so blue it is.
All done. I use fuel line I cut to make a grommet so the pipe doesnt rattle and I cut the pipe at an angle starting the middle of the od just get a little extra air. I formed the mesh around the pipe before I cut it so I got a nice round sleeve that I just ziptied on nice and tight. Its also wedged against the mesh on the cabin intake so its not moving.

Was a fun project and went pretty easy. Stabbed my thumb while forming the mesh but beyond that no injuries to report. Blew up about 12 cutoff dics for my dremel. Things are junk and super brittle so yeah....:annoyed:

Cheap, easy and better aesthetically to me than a snorkel but if I ever decide to get crazy with my build I might make the switch. For now, this works great and cost less than $100. Budget baby!

@ResearchMonkee so when we cutting yours up?:spending:

Just gotta buy up the stuff. Though I think I have to relocate something where you put that hole. I did not have a smog pump and something is in the way.

I don't know if it actually disables Trac, but I know from my time spent reading about the CAN system that indicator lights can turn on for weird unrelated stuff. The light doesn't always mean that the system is affected, just that it knows you're up to something.

If you don't have a deburring tool, I'd recommend getting one. A file is always a needed tool, but for most things I use a deburring tool to break edges. They have different blades for different materials but I just use the same blade for everything.

I checked the code, and it said Secondary Air Injection System Failed to Run. (or something close to that) Once I reinstalled everything and let it cycle I was able to clear the code.

Oh I have that exact 'whirly bird'. It's just not great for irregular holes. That section isn't flat.

Supposedly my skids ship sometime this week. I need to clean up and paint the TC Gusseted spindles I got from @ovrlndkull and get them on too at some point. It's getting warmer so my excuses to not work on things are starting to evaporate.
Working OT to gather some change to buy the 62 Swap through JD Fabrication, and I'm also wondering if it's time to upgrade the front suspension. Not sure how long I can get by on 5100s & OME 590LB coils considering I got the steel bumper + winch now and will be adding on the 3/16" steel 3 piece skids and my custom HD sliders. Will be a lot of weight. I think the rears will be fine with the Deavers from the 62 swap so I'm not worried as much about that. I also need to mock up my tire mount toolbox idea and put together a BOM for that. I recently got Fusion 360 on my home computer and have been designing an interior piece I may customize out in a few variants and list up for sale in the nearish future. I'll be printing some prototypes hopefully in the coming month or so. That's still in the design stages so it may be a while till I have anything ready to market but baby steps. Then I'll be focusing on designing out the tailgate reinforcement I'd been talking about for the last 3.5 years.

    Mod Project Check List:
    1. Skids
    2. 62 Swap
    3. Sliders
    4. Gusseted Spindles (clean, paint, replace dust shields)
    5. Re-evaluate the front suspension. End game I'd like to move to ADS but 6112s and 650-700lb coils might be the cheaper route for now.

    Special Project Check list:
    1. Finish designs (Tailgate Reinforcement & Secret interior item)
    2. Finish fine tuning my printer (I'm not satisfied with the print quality at the moment and will be printing some adjustment upgrades and finishing the enclosure I've been building for it.)
    3. Prototyping.
    4. Refining.
    5. ???
    6. Profit?

Probably forgetting some stuff but this will help me remember.

Need to replace my CB system and I keep looking into GMRS. Doing some reading and found this useful little bit of info.
    https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Expanded_APCO_10_Codes

$70 for a ten year license isn't terrible. The Midland Micromobile would work well with the thing I'm designing too....
Been borrowing a Midland Handheld and looking at buying my own. Wish there was a hardwire adapter for it instead of the cig lighter pigtail.

Picture dump + info from @81Trekker 's thread for the 62 swap. I spoke with Jesse on the phone today at JD Fab to get the invoice and pricing on everything. Getting really close to dropping $$$$.
Bought 14" Travel Fox Smoothies from @Sociopenguin yesterday.
