How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

My salesman said put down a $1,000.00 deposit and we call it “sold.” Considering it went toward my purchase and the truck was exactly what I wanted at the price I wanted, it was a no-brainer. There is no way I was taking a chance of someone offering the dealer a premium to hijack it when it came in.

 

Whoa whoa whoa. A special order build does not cost an extra dime. I say again, a special order does not cost an extra dime. I've done it three times and never once did the words "special charge" or "extra fee" ever come up in the conversation. The problem comes from slick willy salesman that says they can't special order but we have one right here on the lot very similar to what you want. Bullcrap ! They want to sell you what's already on their lot and will say all kinds of lies to convince you to buy something you don't want.......

 

Placed my order mid November for a Voodoo Blue DCSB 6MT TRD Sport. Arrived in port this morning, ready to pick up early next week.

‘Ordered’ it November 9,2020 with a $500 deposit.

Arrived at the dealership today: March 9,2021.

After exactly 4 months of ‘patiently’ waiting…

I’ll be picking it up on Saturday!

Yes, I actually wanted to put down the max(credit card payment for that sweet, sweet 2% cashback bonus) of $2,500 for the deposit, but he said $500 will suffice for the deposit. He stated I could put the other $2,000 later when it arrives. I saw the computer screen and it was my truck with my VIN, and it said SOLD next to the dealers name. So I hope none of those shenanigans happen when the truck gets there. I will be hounding him the next couple weeks to make sure no one steals it from me after waiting patiently for 5 months.

It took me many different dealers and no one wanted to work with me on an order. When they finally did, they wanted to charge ADM(Addiotnal Dealer Markup) and other bogus fees and I just walked every time. Finally found one that would work with me, and now I am about a month away from my truck!

 

Did they estimate a date leading up to your delivery? Did it come earlier or later than expected? I ordered a 2021 SR5 DCLB on January 4th, 2021 and they are predicting April 22, 2021 for my delivery (Woodstock, ON, CAN).

 

I’m in BC, ordered Dec.15 and was told Feb.20-25. With two weeks to go I touched base with my salesman to make sure that everything was going to plan, he told me no change. Anyhow, that ETA window came and went and the salesman dodged my messages.
I called the dealership and asked for a manager, she told me mine had been rescheduled at least four times. The initial date, then an earlier one, then later, later again. Now after another reschedule it’s sitting around March 16-20.

 

Ordered 2/12ish and build date of 4/15, delivery 4-5 weeks after

 

Paying sticker for an ordered truck is what I considered extra dime.

And then there's the 6 months wait.

 

It was initially end of Jan. Then moved to end of Feb. Then moved to first week of March. And then said March 6-10. Arrived march 5th. Mine Was built in Texas and just made it out in time of that flood they had.

 

And, my delivery date has been delayed once again another week so now expecting it 3/20-3/29.....ugh!!

 

Ordered 2/12. Order accepted. No build date yet...

 

The build date is key. Without it, the dealer is wishing or hoping for one rather than having a right to one by allocation. If it is part of the dealer’s allocation, the dealer should be given a build date.
