TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Not a clue. Been on the fence about getting one but think I'm going bite on it.

 

I started working full time again so I have a laundry list of things to purchase now

 

Nearly everybody supercharged or turbo'd has a laundry list of things to buy or do lol!

My clutchmasters hydraulic throwout bearing blew its seal so I just dropped the trans and went back to stock mechanism. Added a Truetrac, cause why not? Then added an AFE momentum scoop (got it on black friday sale) to my frankenstein'd magnum intake. Drilled through my firewall and put a daystar boot so I can run switch wiring for a Bussman RTMR relay box, which I am fabbing up mounts for.

Will be playing with wiring for a while but it's gonna be at my leisure.

 

Yet another case of a failed CM throwout... pitiful, sad, and downright depressing.

 

Yeah, I wasn't that happy about it.

 

Right now I NEED gauges, fuel pump upgrade, possibly IPT valve body, and a whole exhaust set up. I would really like to redo my interior though but that is going to take some massive planning

 

Solid upgrade list right there!

 

They work just fine and are the best option. You may have to dremel out the gauge holes a tad.

I hope it continues to work awesome for you! Some people have decent miles on theirs so it may be a quality control issue or luck of the draw if you get a good one. That said it's getting no second chances from me.

A couple months back I noticed a slow leak that was slowly draining the reservoir. Then a cold snap hit (-25 deg C) and it blew everything out while the truck was warming up. Waited until the weather was warm and bled and it held enough that I could drive into the garage at least. Actually felt normal.

I think the cold weather sped up its demise, and the cold shrunk the seal or something. When it blew it blew big.

 

I saw how many people had issues , posted mine up and sold it right away....

 

I think you made the right choice. I researched clutchmasters at the time I bought and their hydrobearings seemed to get good reviews on other vehicles and I never saw anything about them failing. The fact that mine lasted as long as my clutch took to break in is pitiful.

 

Yeah what a shame. Could’ve easily been one of the best mods

Fitment is, admittedly, less than perfect out of the box. Following @JuanitoBunito's lead, I was able to make it acceptable, even to someone with my level of OCD.

 

That truck is gangster as F.

 

Lol. Appreciate it. I picked it up for a commuter.. now it's another money pit. Got long term plans for it.. but for now it's a simple daily.

 

Holding out that my CM is gonna hold... clutch is broken in, now it's just a waiting game

 

Prob 1-2 months. It did take awhile to get mine.
