From one engineer to another I envy you. Especially working from home.

My brother got a Ram a few years ago, and is currently working on a deal to return it and getting a new one that shouldn’t have the issue. I truly don’t remember what it is, but I think electronic issues.

I had been waiting for my ‘03 Chevy 2500 duramax to wear out. 425,000 miles and still very strong. So I kept it & bought a Tacoma anyway.

I had an '02 Dmax back in the day, it was a good truck other than needing injectors every 80K. My beef with Gm has nothing to due with the vehicles, I used to work for them and bailed in '08 when they went belly up, the way it went down left a bad taste in my mouth. It's ironic, they are one of my customers now.

Can't go wrong. I share mileage with a third Honda Accord. The 2012 2500 has 9,000 miles on it so far. :):)

I've put many thousands of miles on company 5.0L V8 F150's and 6.2L GM 1500's. Never had a problem with either. I personally owned a 2.7L Ecoboost F150, had no problems with it either, and absolutely loved it. It was fast as hell, got great fuel economy even without trying, and was ultra-comfy for long freeway trips. Also loved the rear diff lock that works independently of the transfer case, so no need to "mod" anything to use the locker how you want. You can also get the locking rear diff on any trim level, with or without an "off road" package (unlike the Tundra which gets no diff lock even on the TRD Pro). ONLY reason I sold my F150 is I got a friend deal on a long bed Duramax, but I'm already tempted to flip it and order a 3.5L Ecoboost F150 exactly how I want.

I sold my 18 Raptor with 20k miles because for my purpose of a sedan with a bed (payload is only 1090), it didn’t do much for me.

it has a very big rear passenger area, but I can fit my 3 kids just fine in my new LR Pro.

I only got 14ish mpg in it because I was always flooring it to get it to go since even though it has 450HP which sounds like a lot except it’s paired to a confused 10 speed auto and it weighs a thousand pounds more than my Pro.

Taco has a gutless motor in comparison but I drive it like an S2000 and it gets 13ish mpg, so it’s a wash.

in the end, for my purpose, a manual pro does the sedan with a bed Job much better for me, and is never boring since I get to tell it what gear and how much power I want at all times.

now if the raptor has an option for Tremec 6, I might consider it again.

lol you can’t drive a taco like an s2000 bro. Kudos to you for enjoying the 6MT, but there is nothing like that car outside of a very modified RAZ-R or LS swapped Miata

Wife got into a new last model year 18 RAV4 hybrid limited a couple years back. That’s a solid crossover let me tell ya. Got all the kinks worked out of it. Probably the last year still made in Japan. She handed-me-down a Prius C and I helped her with the down payment on the Rav. So now I have the Prius beater and the 18 Taco Sport. The more I drive the Prius the more I hate the Taco. Even it’s just a midsize truck it takes a fuckload more gas and no where near agile as the Prius. So my Taco is parked all week with only 20k on the odometer while I keep upgrading her with nice suspensions and beautiful wheels. I even put a SSO slimline winch bumper on it. For what I don’t even know.

My boss keeps asking me why don’t I drive the Taco more. I said boss, I don’t know what this SUV craze is about, the only one regret I have is why couldn’t the Prius C any smaller...

Turns out my prayers were answered. There is something called a Vanderhall. That’s my idea of a driving heaven. You guys can keep lugging on with your half tons. I’ll take this any day of the week.

    it’s a metaphor.

I don’t drive it below 3500, like one would with an S2000...

Driven plenty, prefer my E46 M3 at the time. Still high revving but has some power below 3500 unlike the S2000.

Back to the topic, Ford for sure has a better overall package, but not having a manual, and that’s all of domestic now, a manual Pro is a better fir for me.

    Speaking of opinions, LOL.

Pro manual is a much better sedan with a bed than the raptor if you aren’t into self driving vehicles.

A proper half ton I would prefer a Ford. Had a RAM Rebel for exactly one month then traded in for Raptor. RAM is not in the same league as Chevy or Ford.

No, but I’ve heard they make going slow feel really fast.
