I own a garage door repair company in Florida and I have been using Nissan Frontiers for our service trucks but I am looking to start swapping them out gradually for Tacoma's. We use full size racks on our trucks that mount to the bed and I have heard that you can't bolt directly to the Tacoma bed because it is composite. Is there any modifications that can be made to allow me to bolt to the bed?

Not worth risking because composit bed mounts to frames are failing.

I found a local distributor of Rack-it products, I'll contact them on Monday. Thanks to everybody who responded.

I love my Tacoma but have seen complaints about the beds failing on the frame mounts. Also saw one guy post the damage to his bed when the load shifted in his truck and destroyed the bed behind the cab. Get a truck with a steel bed unless you are just hauling light duty stuff. My Tacoma is good for that but I question "working"it.
