Okay!

I just pulled the trigger on a new Fic 8!

Pretty cool it uses the same wire harness, so it's "plug and play".

It has a boost controller option, Iat option and tons of logging capability.

I'll pull my 6 out and retune with the 8. Any fuss and the 6 goes back in. Once tuned on the 8 I'll dive into the 6 and figure out the issue.

This is way over kill but I don't like the truck being down. That's why I built the turbo kit in modular sections.

 

Very similar thought process to my own.

 

Does it have timing control? That's my only gripe I have on the FIC 6; no timing advance.

 

Retard only as far as I know.

You could get crafty and move the location of the crank sensor.

 

Picked the truck up and it feels great. I could feel the turbos dragging (?) Before when I stepped on the gas. Now it doesn't drag and power picks up quick. Once this is tuned it's going to be insane.


The OPR was mounted in a great spot and they routed the hoses exactly how I would. Love how small and compact it is.









First start and the OPR was 40 psi at cold start and idles so much smoother! Will post a cold start tomorrow morning.

Once I got to temp oil pressure looks so much better and the truck loves it a lot. Like I said before idle is amazing!

Just need to drive it a while and get the smoke out of the system or just drop it and clean it out. Overall I'm super pumped with the work done and seems to be the fix I needed.

 

Or just retard 350° to add 10° etc

My better half just got a 2020 rav4 yesterday... not paying that off just yet!

 

Yeah, it said 2-4 week wait when I checked earlier tonight. Although it is on sale right now for 150 off... I'm not in any rush to get it, it's not like my project will truly begin for awhile. My plan is to do the haltech first with the stock engine in the truck and get it running and driving on the stock tune. Then once the built engine is ready I can swap it out and tune with the base map as a starting point.

 

I paid her 2018 Tuscon off in 3 years. Definitely do able
