Well turns out it was a controlled burn. Can't understand the logic. 15 mph sustained winds, it's been super dry for over a week and I've found a ton of dry wood on the ground. Glad it worked out. Seems like they know what they were doing

The 'disco' part is my most favorite whitewater kayak. It was made by Riot kayaks (no longer a company) and at the time was super innovative in their kayak designs. They came up with a playboat which is made for doing big tricks on river waves and hydraulics. The Disco changed and moved the sport so fast. At the time (20+ years ago) I was able to get one of the first available in the southeast. Made in Canada and only 2 made their way to Alabama and one of them was mine! I still have a few but they are beat up. One is now installed upright by the side of the road with a mailbox inside the cockpit at my buddies house in Remlap AL. Another is in western NC with herbs growing. RIP Disco

It's not this company???? They're in Can. I think they came back just under one of the big umbrella corps like a lot of the smaller kayak brands these days

Hopefully my family can get out this year and float some class I/II rivers with our 4 year old and 1 year old. Our oldest loves spending time on the river, puts her right to sleep.

Youre right.. I ment to add, the owner and designer (Corran) sold Riot and his new company name is Soul Waterman and the Disco is back! I guess he just didn't have as much financial backing for Soul because now the boats are made in Japan and you pretty much have to pre-order them. Once he gets enough pre-orders for a certain boat a batch is made. The quality isn't as good as Riot though unfortunately.

I think Riot was in heavy debt so Corran bailed and probably gave the new owner rights to use his design molds but Riot never really was the same. Corran the brilliant paddler and designer are what made the company work

That's how I got into the sport, through my parents. So glad they did, it is still a huge part of my life. If your daughter stays interested as she gets older I highly suggest getting her professional kayak/canoe lessons. With A real instructor kids pick it up so fast. The Nantahala River (Western NC) is a great learning and teaching river. Endless River Adventure and Nantahala Outdoor Center both have great instructors and kids clinics. If it were me I'd go with Endless because they are still locally owned and a smaller more personable business.

But of course she most likely still has some growing to do before all that. Enjoy the river!

Edit- if you already knew all that, excuse my rant hahaha

Sounds about like most of the yak companies these days.

New to the area so I know nothing. Last night was the first time I actually searched for rivers to float. Need to teach her to swim first...

Swimming is for sure needed. Lol. Good PFD (life jacket) that is worn CORRECTLY.

Americanwhitewater.org has a wealth of river info. You can search by state. Pinning down rivers located near you can be harder but maybe they have a search/ filter option?

    American Whitewater SC
    https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/state-summary/state/SC/
This 'gadget page lists almost all whitewater rivers in the state. tells you what class, level and description

Edit- gauge not gadget.. autocorrect sucks sometimes

So I'm putting this out here.

    Burlington NC

GF needs these coilovers rebuilt. As you can see they've been through hell! Her friend/mechanic that has the right tools is slacking for months now. trying to get her vehicle ready for URE.
Can anyone recommend a shop to rebuild these beasts?
    7491.jpg

Edit- I also can't seem to find and part/serial numbers otherwise I would have already ordered new seals. Any guesses to where they are hidden? Maybe I should reach out to fox.

    Hi boys,

First time posting here in a while. I'm in need of a cab mount chop + weld in the Triangle area. I live in Chapel Hill, specifically.

Any members here that have access to / are handy with a MIG or TIG welder? Or any local shops that ya'll would recommend for the job? I can make the cuts with my angle grinder but I have a shitty welder that isn't sufficient.

Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Absolutely. However, that is not a rush job. Lots of cutting involved.

I will shoot you a dm shortly, thank you! You wouldn't also be able to drill / tap a hole for a zerk fitting would you? Or know a local shop that could so? I stripped one of the zerk fittings on a TC upper control arm and need to get it sorted.

let’s make it a party. I got a JD fab gussets and spindles ready to go with a double shear kit and a lower pivot. I can do JD fab or total chaos gussets if anyone is interested. But seriously, let’s set it up. It is much easier to do on mine after we jack up yours!!!
