Just got my smart cap delivered!!
Can't wait to out it on. Painful knowing its just in the garage waiting until atleast Friday to be put together.

It may have been posted in this thread but I have not seen a superwhite tacoma short bed with the RSI sport cap yet so this is going to be interesting!!

    Thanks again!

One should refuse the shipment if damaged - correct?

Can you describe some of the "Cosmetic" issues people are finding?

What’s the weight on this one: Evo A (solid side gullwing panels) 6ft bed?

I can’t seem to find any specs.

Glad you called and glad we could discuss your concerns. If there is evidence of significant damage, yes refuse the shipment. But please take some pictures! No matter what happens, we're here to help.

Not one to criticize (kind of like when you say - no offense but then you say something offensive:) ) but this is the Tacoma World forum, and you pick the picture of the RSI on a Jeep to post, when in the back is a Tacoma with an RSI on it as well...(I get that the Tacoma probably didn't have the kitchen, but it's still kinda funny, at least I think so in a snarky kind of way). But I did buy an "A" and bars from you - arrive in the area tomorrow, to the house who knows when.

Noted! But the Jeep is ours, the Tacoma was not. We did post pictures of the Tacoma too and you're spot on, only our Jeep had the kitchen. We never had a chance to install an RSI cap on our shop Tacoma before we sold it.

Ordered my cap Sunday evening and I assembled and installed it yesterday... 3 days later... Crazy fast shipping! ORA has excellent service. I would post photos, but TW is loading PAINFULLY slow for me... and has been for awhile. Anyway, fitment it great, quality is great, and no leaks (rained last night and on my way to work). Super Gluing the back corners of the weather stripping (where it wraps over the tailgate) is NECESSARY. Also, I still get a solid seal despite having an aluminum inner tailgate cover.

SO glad I went with this over a fully loaded ARE cap. Thanks ORA!

Anybody have pics of a Cement Tacoma with an EVOa? Looking to replace my GFC as I want a larger tent, but honestly my favorite part of the GFC are the big side panels so the EVOa looks perfect in that regard.

Whew, good question. I saw it on the instructions. I’ll be installing the load bars and tying that thing in tonight. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I used some black Flex Seal caulk because they had it at Lowe’s when I was there. If not I was going to order some black silicone RTV. I just used a caulk gun to get up into the corners. We had some heavy rain recently that I drove through and the bed was dry as a bone.

The instructions suck! And my wire harness had the wires crossed into one of the plugs so I had to cut flip and solder them. So make sure you test your harness. I’ll take pictures of what I did but basically I took out that cubby box notched it on the edge and drilled a hole behind it for the wire, then sealed what there even was of a hole with black rtv silicone. That way the wire runs straight down and has no chance of snagging. Doing it this way allows you to run it through the top hole behind the tail light so you have nothing underneath the truck. It turned out super clean and no wires running where they can get caught or pinched.

I'm hoping to mount my cap tomorrow and figure out the brake light. The pictures on the instructions were completely useless in shedding any light on the subject but I'm hoping it will be pretty self explanatory. I wasn't planning on drilling any holes, so that doesn't excite me. I'll see what I can figure out. The youtube videos I found completely skip the brake light step. If I have a stroke of genius, I will try to take some pictures or a video or something.
