Upgrading Alternator

Going full Overlander on this 2018 Sport. Having trouble finding plug and play upgrade for alternator any info guys would help.

 

There really aren't any available.

What most do is run a large AGM battery with a voltage boost mod, so a tune or a diode that forces the alternator to charge at 14+v

Some people run dual small AGM batteries as well. But in the end they would need a slow top off charge monthly or bi-monthly or pre-trip.

Probably don't need one. I haven't seen many people that have needed the upgrade.

Alot of the "pro" overlanding guys like expedition overland are still running stock alternators.

 

For 3rd Gen isn't the alternator voltage and output controlled by the ECU? The 2nd Gen diode mod works but not for 3rd Gen. I've got an AGM and charge it every month, bought a new 8 stage charger to replace a 7 stage, really don't know the difference.

OV tune can up the voltage for an AGM battery, also don't know how it works for aftermarket alternators.
