Do it. 4.0 L is nice.

but a limited has a face only a mother could love. Sure you don’t want the other better looking 4runner?

I have a FJC TT, this love the motor. I need the long bed, thus no 4runner for me, keeping taco

Given excellent values of resale in taco you will be fine. I sold my 2018 taco In January to vroom. Got way higher than carvana or carmax

Yeah I needed the Taco for my house and the wife's garden, but now everything is kinda settled (plus I have three trailers) not sure if the Taco is overdoing it. I can use the practically of a 4runner for family life.

On the side notes, Dealers everywhere are low in stocks. Doubt if I'd get a deal at all these days. I might wait a bit for the last year model clearance sales.

You will get nice trade on taco but you will pay more for 4runner - due to shortage

all comes out same at the end !

4runners are WAY better equipped now. The problem is the lazy transmission and motor from 2010, but if you want a reliable long term truck, its the king.

I prefer the limited for the 4 wheel drive system, but don't care for the wheels and running boards equipped.

Do you know if the full time 4WD takes a hit with the gas milage?

Not terribly, but the skinny oem tires makes up for it. They do really well on the highway, but predictable city shit mileage.

    We have 2018....not a limited.

It is a nice vehicle. The drivetrain is wheezy dog. For the money, I’d buy a used LC200.

If you can do it again, would you take the OR/SR5/Pro over the Limited

I don't own one, I work at Toyota. I wanted a 14 "trail" when they came out, but was rejected due to limited stock and didnt want to wait until 2015.

I keep coming close to leasing one, the limited makes the most sense for me because I prefer the full time AWD for winter. The sweet spot is the Offroad, they have pretty much the same tech as the limited and it has crawl control.

There's a cheaper "trail" edition right now, but its just an SR5 with a roof rack. I really like the wheels it comes with.

Pro is not worth it on a 4runner, nightshade isn't either. So limited or Offroad is my recommendations.

I have an 18 Taco limited and my wife has a 20 4Runner limited. I downsized from the Tundra for the Taco and its been fine but I plane to keep the 4 runner for myself in a couple years and trade the Taco for what she wants. The 4Runner seems far more refined and I enjoy driving it more. The engine has enough power for me. I don’t live the limited looks, I think a runner looks better in SR5 trim or Pro. It’s supposed to look rugged IMO. We went limited for the full time AWD for my wife. Both are great vehicles and I’ve always found a truck handy around the house, but I find the 4Runner nicer to the point I will buy a small trailer for my needs.
We bought the 4Runner in August 2020 and had to pay MSRP. We bought the only one they had and it was still on the delivery truck. We traded a Highlander and made out well so it all came out in the wash, but don’t expect much in the way of discounts.

    :)
I’m asking the question now but I have been on the look out for a new 4R since before all these craziness happen. I totally agree the dealer doesn’t budge much on the price except for the factory incentives. They can sell them all day long so it’s not like they need me that desperately.
I have to say I secretly love the limited restrained good looks, like those Taylor Swift Shake it off songs that you too embarrassed to play in front of your buddies but you crank it up in your car when no one is around :) I think it’s macho but it’s not throw it in your face kinda macho. Ever time I see a white one passed by I melt.
I’m going to hold out until Toyota reveals the final 2023 4R and see if it’s heroes or zeroes. I might grab the last tried and true made in Japan if they have some clearance. Thanks for the inputs.
