Dude. with the dollar at around 80 cents you'll have to do some serious thinking. Say you could get a DC TRD Sport for around 26 US so that's 31 Canadian already. Plus GST is 32.5. Plus travel costs if you go down to get it. I'd say might as well buy at home.

Hard to believe a year ago the dollar was around 1.07!
That was when every good Canadian was importing at least one Tacoma with a quad in the back and pulling a trailer with a new boat.

Let us know what you buy. Damn those new 09 colors are nice.

Paid $23,600 for my '05 DC 4x4 Sport 6MT with 79K on it (Canadian Truck). I had a hell of a time finding a stick.

That was back in June when the dollar was sky-high.

Not sure where you're from dude, I bought mine at Canadian Auto Associates in Guelph. Good people to deal with and they have a good selection of Taco's - mostly US trucks though, mine was the odd-ball.

CowTown huh? How you enjoying the snow we finally got?

I paid 36k before taxes for an 07 TRD OR with 8000kms on it last year. Had about 4k worth of mods done to it. Maybe more, I'm still finding new things that were done to it.

Bought last year from US when dollar was around 1.04. Paid 26500 plus GST/PST/RIV fees. A Bellingham Wash. truck with 9000 miles on it. I agree with dsds..tough call with the downward spiral of the CDN dollar. You'll have to be well calculated!

I seriously looked at importing a base model regular cab from Washington a few months ago. With the exchange rate and the fact that they can't lower the price as much on the base models, a regular cab would cost me only slightly less than the access cab here. With the current exchange rate, it's probably cheaper to get the access cab here than to import a regular cab.

Mine was $32K. My dealer says they are having a hard time getting them. has Toyota slowed down production. BTW the damned dollar is about where it should be, enabling us to keep our Canadian $$$ in Canada and improve the export markets and support this countries business for a change.
I for one believe in buying local therefore bought mine a yr ago when the $$ was a lot higher.

They provide a carfax with every US vehicle. It is buyer beware in any circumstance like that. I spent like 8 hours looking over my truck before I bought it, just making sure there was no over spray anywhere or evidence of past body damage.

I've had it for 6 months now and can honestly say I'm quite happy with it.:D

I don't know, but that would make sence. Mine was supposed to be in at the end of October, now it's been delayed until next week.

Bought mine (TRD Sport DC LB 4X4) in the U.S. in May when the dollar was +/- at par with the greenback. When all was said and done I paid about 30K (incl GST/PST/RIV/Inspections).
I shopped around locally and was getting quotes of 38K+, not incl taxes!!!

I beleive in that too. But if means saving 10k on a new truck than I have no problem shopping across the border. How can Toyota and other car makers justify the difference in price especially when the currencies are at par????

I agree with MTL Tacoma.... I like to shop local too, but 10k + in my pocket...I'll drive for 6 hrs and do a little border paperwork..thanks. Warranty is valid in Canada too! I enjoy spending money but I'm not going to throw it away to a Canadian Toyota Dealership when we are at par with the US! The price difference was ridiculous!! 10+ grand up in smoke for the same truck! Pure Maddness or you must be rich!!

i brought my 08 trd dc offroad from WA 2 months ago. all in all everything cost me $30205.82CND. its now up in Vancouver Canada, and its perfect. it was a breeze bringing it up. dunno how good of a deal now that the dollar is a lil weaker...worth the trouble imo
