Aren't you running NiteRider like we are? My Boost 900 light intensity is as good of anything else I've seen. The major change in my experience is how wide the beam becomes with more expensive lights but a wide beam doesn't do much for MTB.

    I’m running 900 and 1200.
They’re good, I don’t get the same throw distance wise while also maintaining great light up close.

Their lights do drown mine out though when behind me or were beside each other. I could almost turn mine off lol

That would be pretty tough to make the stanchion smooth enough to not ruin seals constantly.

I told him run it how it is for now, and when another busted lyric comes up snag it.

Maybe we can make two bads into one good lol.

I did see a Lyric Ultimate 2021 for like $600 and that was tempting.
I'd say if my brother can claim 500 miles off of that fork and then upgrade he did good.
I wish the scratch was closer to the last 20 or 30 mm of travel and not that close to the beginning.
I'll look into it, he may be able to buy the cheapest lyric and put these internals in it.

If he gets 500 miles out of the fork then just keep it - you'll notice if it is worthy pretty quickly

I've seen people use fingernail polish to smooth the scratches.

That was a recommendation on a website I looked into. It’s not leaking oil or air, it just needs to keep dust out with a smoother surface.

Have you looked up fork servicing specialists in the country? I've seen it mostly for Fox products but there are race shops that specialize in tuning/servicing forks and shocks that may be able to replace that stanchion. Shoot, if it costs $2-300 it might be worth it.

I'll wait for an old set of lyrics and just move the internals to it. I just can't see paying $2-300 for something I can get dang near new for $500 on pinkbike.
It's not the ultimate, next tier down.

Also, the guy I bought the slash from brought out his just built Gnarvana and I was looking it over.
Dude had titanium eewings on the bike. Although cool, and I like the look, I get why he said a lot of people like to rag on him about them.

Eewing Article "Oof, they're probably more robust than carbon cranks, sure, but these things are something that you buy with your heart, not your brain."

:drool::drool: I'd put those on the titanium hardtail in a heartbeat if I won the lottery!

For sure a sport based on desire and not necessity, we could be kicking it on Deore Spec bikes and have a blast with buds.

That desire is what drives the funding for R&D though.
