I had the ship to another address selected. It came up with $17 once I deselected it. I’ll probably pick it up from your shop. Much appreciated!

That'd be what I'm waiting on as well. I did see they posted elsewhere that they're expecting 3-4 more weeks for bumpers.

FWIW I emailed him about six weeks ago and he got back to me within about 12 hours.

Over the last 3 years I've bought all my armor from Mobtown, for both of my Tacoma's. Joe is a friend and his work and products are top notch.

Like you all, I waited, and I'm probably worse than anyone when it comes to patience. I loose sleep thinking about how cool my truck will look after the install.

The truth of the matter is, some of us are just conditioned to be able to walk away from a counter in less than two minutes with an entire customized fried chicken sandwich meal. Now imagine you go in to order your meal and as soon as they grab a bag to put it in they have to walk away and answer an email, or a call, and go look to see if they have any pickles or extra sauce. Then they put your waffle fries in the little fry bag, oh wait, another call. They walk away again to check ice. Fifteen or twenty minutes later you finally walk away from the counter, and they forgot your sauces, and there's no damn pickles on your sandwich!

The boss doesn't sit behind a desk playing COD or GTA between calls and emails. He's out in the shop, hands on, and once the welding helmet is in place he's in the zone. For my stuff, no matter what it is, I want him to stay in the zone so it is as perfect as possible. It's also important to me for him and his crew to be safe so they go home with all their digits every night.

Personally, I like the new method better. I know it's in stock and I buy it. Then I go get it. If you're like me, you just have to struggle to be disciplined enough not to spend the money on another mod until that time comes.

I'm saving for bumpers now, and I will be for a while. I want a hybrid front with a full hoop and a high clearance rear with dual swingouts. It will be so worth the wait though!!!

Very well put Rob! Just wish Joe would offer powder coating. If so I would already have mine on at this point and enjoying the nice weather off-roading

    Thanks Chuck.

I agree, his previous P/C work was killer. Shame.

Did you get that fever looked at. I hear the chicken noodle soup from Delaware is the best thing for you when you're sick like you are.

I think the overall concern from some/many is the lack of comms once their initial estimated "window" passes. Nobody really gets an update unless they reach out directly, and if they can't get any response at all, it's certainly concerning. When I put in my order the backlog said 2-3 months - at the 2.5 month mark I reached out asking for an update because the lead times had been entirely removed from the site, which concerned me; he responded quickly and let me know the situation, and that's good enough for me. I'm happy to let him stay in the zone once I got my response, and haven't bothered the shop since then. It'll happen when it happens.

Overall, changes to communications could certainly help alleviate the concern for a lot of people, but it hasn't really been an easy year - for anyone. Honestly, though, just an update on the site that's easy to see saying what he said in his recent comment would probably help a lot of the problems and reduce the number of emails he has to stress over every night. People checking the site and seeing nothing in stock and no real updates to the site itself (that aren't also on this forum) will probably be a bit concerned. Throwing a banner at the top with a date saying this:

would probably calm a lot of people. It's pretty understandable when you drop $600+ up front on something, pass the expected deadline, and hear silence.

I don't blame the shop at all for it, pretty unprecedented situation, and I think most of us get it and are happy to wait. But I think we can all understand why some people might feel differently.

Those going to the site need to actually click on an item to see if it is in stock. Over the last three weeks people have said there were no front skids for the tacoma in stock. I asked them if they’d actually clicked on the item to see if it was in stock they said no. I the told them to actually click on the item. Then guess what happens they mysteriously appeared to be in stock. And as of posting this they are still front and transfer case skids in stock.

I don't think the listing of things in stock is the issue they're seeing at all - it's previous orders that are yet to be filled. Some kind of regularly updated announcement on components that still have backorders outstanding would fix a lot of the problems, I think.

Those of us with orders outstanding from November/December that have already fronted the money are probably the majority of people hitting the shop's inbox.

I know there is a powder coating place up here near me that is good. Since there is a HD dealer down there I would give them a call and ask them if there is a place nearby they might recommend. HD owners get P/C a lot. I have heard that LineX can somehow get moisture between it and the metal. Not sure how. Have you considered using a bedliner paint and doing it yourself? It looks best if you can spray it, or roll it. Brushing it is too smooth and inconsistent.
