Yokohama Geolandar MT-G003

Yup, same for me. I just hate the 'sissy' look of these G015's. They are the mildest looking AT's I've ever used (except for the GYears that came with the truck). Never owned a set of Yokohama's before either. But I can't overlook the fact that the G015's just flat out work well in all conditions I've taken them in to. No drama, all go.

Now let's get back to looking at the sexy pics of G003's on Tacomas.

edit- I kind of feel like that forum member that folks nicknamed the 'michelin man' cause he was always promoting the LTX AT/2 and Defender tires.

 

Those are actually really good tires. Lol
Just put my yoks through about 300 miles of az desert. They worked well i did have a bit of chunking on a couple of the outer lugs. Nothing to bad ill get a pic.

If you are referring to the LTX AT/2 and Defender, I am in agreement.

 

Yea ltx. I had some on my old Tahoe they were great.

The yoks are a awesome tire i don't care what anyone says they ride amazing when aired down. I was impressed with what they can do with just 2wd. I don't really see rain or snow so ...

$200 a tire Fu@€. Not in Canada. Not only are they almost $400 a tire their hard to find.

I wonder how the Geolander Yokohama's compare to the Cooper STT Pro's? Anyone used both tires before?

 

I looked into both since liked their look. But the coopers had a lot more negative reviews. And a lot louder on road.

Great info here.
I considered the Yokohama, STT Pro, MAX, and Falken MT's.
I found a deal through Cesar, at Discount Tires Direct, and went with the Falken MT01 @ 235/85R16.
They haven't been on long, but they have been ran a few hundred miles on pavement.
At this point I am very satisfied with them, compared to my previously ran BFG A/T's.
Once I get my OME lift installed, they'll be tested more vigorously, and I'll write my review.

 

Do you have any pics of the tires on the truck?

 

They really like to grab the snow for cornering, stopping, accelerating, etc. Of course, it's snow so I drive slower than most guys in their 20s with FWD ripping down the highway. Nonetheless, its going to snow a couple feet here over the weekend. Not worried about any traction loss

 

Thanks for the info. I just got the Yoko X-AT tires but guys in Canada are saying they were worse than the stock wranglers that come on the Tacoma’s. So considering getting a different tire so I have better road snow traction

 

I really like them. Coming from BFG AT3's they NICE. Not 80mph slalom course tires, but they are really nice.
After my lift gets installed, then I'll evaluated more towards off road.

 

Were were definitely moving at a brisk pace over some pretty rugged train. There was definitely a bunch of high speed gravel.
Here's the worst of it.

 

Since this tire seems either so har or so gd expensive in Canada I have found it decently priced in 255/75/17. Anyone else have a pic of this? To compare apples to apples. My wheel offset is +10 9”wide, 2.5” lift up front 1” rear. No cmc. Spidertrax 1.25”
