    Hi all,

This is my first post and I'll dig right in...

Have a 2021 SR5 V6. Upon wrapping some "dark wood" vinyl on the door window control area, I accidentally removed a small portion of the light silver portion of paint. (Damn) Anyhow, I have SCOURED the internet, called my dealership - even called TOYOTA directly -- not much help, if any.

Questions is - I understand my Taco color code is 1G3, but that's the exterior. I need the interior light silver color code, if applicable.

What I've found is Dupli-color spray paint, but I'm searching for a marker of some sort. I also understand that the "TR" on the color code is for the interior paint, mine is TR FC14 - cannot locate anything legit.

    Please advise.

Can’t help with the paint color but I’m curious; How did you manage to remove the silver with vinyl wrap? I’m asking because I wrapped the interior trim on my previous Tacoma and then traded it in...wondering they’re gonna mess anything up by removing it :/

I wrapped the black part of the window control on the panel.... I prepped it by applying it, then left it for about 30+ minutes to 'cure' or settle... I removed the excess vinyl a little too quickly in one area.

So you pulled the excess vinyl off of the Silver part and pulling it off also pulled the silver paint off?

Correct.... very small area, but still. I was a little shocked! I was more careful on the next areas and had no incident. The point is, ALWAYS, use either water or water/soap under the vinyl to avoid it.

That’s crazy man. Sorry to hear that but thanks for explaining. I wrapped every single bit of the silver trim on my previous Tacoma. I feel sorry for the new owner if they try to remove it.

Quite the story. SOOO happy that there's no silver trim in our new Pro. All those pieces/surfaces that could have been silver are painted a darkish grey in the Pro. Maybe in all 2021s???

Yeah, I said Silver but meant dark grey. I wasn’t a fan in my last Tacoma because I had light grey cloth seats, light grey panels in the doors, some black trim, and then that grey. I wrapped all of the grey in a textured vinyl wrap that was black. Helped eliminate on color. Lol

That is bizarre. It’s not really supposed to happen unless you added on some type of protection coating (I.e rubbing alcohol) before wrapping. From other users experience, hand lotion, sun screen, hair products, will typically destroy trim paint.
