So, if I use my hydration pack 2-3 times a week do I need to clean it as the water never sits in it for extended period of times?

Note... only water gets put in the bladder, no powders, or flavors added.

I started reading forums and threads, some people that just do water haven’t washed theirs in years. I’m good. That tap water has chlorine to keep it clean and fluoride in it to keep from smelling....and tooth decay lol

After each ride I drain the bladder but leave just a little in it. Then throw it in the freezer. Next ride I re-fill with water and the small portion that’s frozen keeps the water cold throughout my ride. In the freezer no bacteria can grow. I never use any solution to clean it, stays fresh and clean this way. I’ve been doing it this way for years.

Yup. Right in the middle of the storm. Poor choices sometimes equal good fun.

I haven't washed mine in years and haven't had an issue. Gotta expose yourself to some bugs to keep the immune system on it's toes!

That looks...terrible! You seriously came down bobsled in that mess?!?!?!

Lol, yeah not great. Top 3/4 was frozen through, slick as snot. Lower 1/4 (past the last big hip on the right) was wet, but the trail was firm. Sometimes just being on the bike in shitty weather is fun.

Well sadly the oval didn’t show up before today’s ride but it’s here now. Excited to try this out.

This new breed of short travel trail/downcountry bikes are absolutely sublime for 90% of what I ride. I’ve been on several of them and while each has its own ride characteristics, they’re all fun as hell. Pretty partial to this one currently.

Got out on a fairly mellow local trail I hadn’t ridden a while today after work. The trail is on city land and they’re pretty adamant about folks being gone by dusk. I was pushing it too hard to wrap up before dark and had one of the rougher crashes I’ve had in a while. Went down in a weird way and took the handlebar end in the loooowwww abdomen (like any lower woulda be really bad...) I’m not peeing blood so that’s good.

Just to add insult to injury I’ve got to replace my rear brake lever now as its bent to shit.

Had plans to ride Sedona and Prescott AZ with a buddy whos visiting from Dallas; Winter storms had a different idea. We did go skiing in flagstaff today but Sedona and Prescott are getting Snow all of tomorrow and did all of today. Sunday will still have cloud cover and not very warm, so trails would get torn up as well as Sedona slickrock in the wet is sketch. At least he gets phoenix riding and maybe Tucson on Sunday if someone sees this and wants to do some shuttle fun?
I know one or two people here are Tucson area so hopefully you see this and can see if your free sunday?
