I'd suggest 5-10%. Smoothing out areas seems to help as well. An elliptical shape seems to be good fairly steep incline that rolls off at the top.

There must be. If the truck wants to shift two gears in either direction, it always has to run in the middle gear for a second or so. I'd be surprised if editing these maps would change that.

My philosophy when trying to tune the trans has been: if it's different than stock, assume it is an improvement until proven otherwise.

Ha! It's hard to get worse than the stock transmission tune.

I'm also curious as to what the High and Low speed interpolation torque maps do. They both have a flat area to the left of the map.

    A little something like this?

Been playing with this a little. Will adjust as needed. Using this on 2-12 and 14-17. Not sure what they’re called in 1.2.9.9.8.7.6.3 or whatever the latest release is...

here is my few cents. When OVtune shared a sample file with these maps, I plugged them to all tables, except S and reverse. Back then I was chasing 4-5 hanging upshift. That change did not help with the issue. Also notice changes to shifting 2-3-4 on cold engine. It was not rough all the time , but enough to tick you off. Other than that, there were no issues with driving.

Once i figured that that 4-5 upshift issue is working in S , I started looking at the differences. It seems S table has lower #'s in 20-40 throttle range and given speed. Now I know that there is Warm Engine table and tempting to lower numbers for 90+ speeds. But waiting on the correction to this statement:
"....Torque calculation > Optimal torque = Downshift
Torque calculation < optimal torque = downshift
Torque calculation = optimal torque (within a %) = optimal = no shift..."

Yesterday I plugged Warm table (old table 3) to all, except S and other 2. I noticed that shifting is somewhat better on cold engine . I only had one 4-5 upshift situation and it did work. However, my speed was just above 60 . Need to do more testing to confirm.

    Table 3 -Warm

We’re going to get these torque maps figured out just in time for the big update that makes it one torque map. Haha

That shout be a solid base. Remember to monitor throttle, not accelerator when fine tuning this.

It's my turn to thank @PapaRee for his tune. Now that I've had the tune for a while and put on over a thousand miles, I can honestly say that it is a necessary improvement.

Back story; I have a 2019 TRDOR that I use as a daily driver and I have about 28k miles on the clock. For the first 25k miles, I was content with the truck. It did everything I asked and looked cool doing it. I didn't think anything was wrong. While reading this forum, I came across a lot of people complaining about how these trucks drive and I started to notice it as well. The constant shifting is what I keyed in on. I attributed it to it being a newer automatic and living in a very hilly area. I tried to put up with it but in my mind it was getting worse. So at first I put on the 04B33 TSB. That was a huge help, but I still felt like it could be better.

Here's where @PapaRee comes in to save the day. I put on the Kruiser 4.0 and my mind was blown. It is an entirely different truck. The only way I can describe it is that the truck feels alive now. The tune is great. The throttle tip in (Idk if I'm using that term correctly) is great. Kinda touchy, but I like not having to stomp the gas to get the truck to move. Shifting is great. Towing is great. If I'm being picky, the only thing I found is that while towing uphill in the mountains, on the interstate, using cruise control, the truck has no idea what gear it wants to be in. Like at all. It shifts every other second. To be fair, it didn't know what to do before the tune either. Taking it out of cruise control solved the issue. I know I probably shouldn't use cruise control in that situation, but I wanted to play around and see what it did.

All in all, 5 stars. I'm happy with how it worked out and I would recommend it to anybody. I know everybody says it, but this really is how the trucks should come from the factory.

    Thanks again

Yeah, I’m using Fusion with absolute throttle position for monitoring.

    Thanks for that review brother!
I agree CC is not good for towing. It is set for highway cruising and staying in 5th and 6th.
ECT or S Mode seems to do the best with towing heavy loads. Light loads are fine in Drive.

It is a generic PID and references throttle motor duty ratio. Not sure if this correct PID to tight to Vf values.
Here is a comparison of that PID to Toyota's throttle related PIDs.

I’m not super original, I’m using @PapaRee dashboard. So far the correlations have been good enough to make adjustments that seem to work out.

Dude you should sell this tune to Toyota lmao, at least if they don't give the new tacomas an engine (small v8 would be nice...), they could at least ship this nice tune.

When I added K&N CAI it didn't add any MPG
Added Gibson Elite exhaust and lost 1 MPG (not sure if temp related, but I have had it since early Jan)
Used Kruiser 4.0 and gained back at least .7mpg

Still waiting for my issue to be resolved with VF tuner so I can edit the tune a little more to make it a 10/10 for myself

Some times one cell goes out of limits and the software keeps you from granading something. After your paste click on any cell then just visualize if one is out of range...it might show highlighted red because of the value. Then just look at your source map you copied from and fix that one value. Whenever I've see it during my edits it was always just a single value.

I am running Krusier 4 from @PapaRee and would like to know what the exact questions/concerns are around 4WD modes, particularly 4-LO. I have seen several comments here on the forums about concerns, but no clear explanation of what the ramificaitons of the tune are should one need to go into 4LO mode. I rarely go offroad, but living in Louisiana, coming across Mud is a real possibility. What's the dealio? Thanks.
