So jealous. I thought I was in the same general batch as you guys, but I haven't heard anything. Congrats. If you don't mind my asking, when did you place your original orders?

I took a quick look at RCIs website. Engine skid in 12ga steel is 45lb, transmission case is 40lb. For those playing along at home, the alumin(i)um variants are 30lb each (Tundra). So I was ~5lb high on my estimate.

Dont be jealous theres always a silver lining lol.
Although they have tested fitment on a first gen, you never know and I might be a good guinea pig before yours. Although you have a long bed.

I’m just whining. But if you remember in all the excitement let me know how well it fits our skinny bed rails and what the gap is between the overhang and the cab roof. Wondering if I can fit a small table in there like with the Alu-Cab. But most of all have fun and enjoy the trip.

Unlikely if the heights are the same between 1st/2nd/3rd gen Tacomas.
My Drifter on my 1st gen had VERY little room underneath. On the 2nd gen I gained maybe 1/2". When mounted on a 3rd gen, it would clear the sharkfin (which is over 2") since the bedsides on the 3rd gen are higher.

It's the last thing I'm worried about. I've got a 2012 Crewmax. They are nicely overbuilt. I have no idea where they get these lousy payload numbers. I would upgrade springs as necessary and enjoy the ride.

4" from rubber strip to underside of tent overhang measured at the door.
