There was no dedicated thread for mountain biking in AZ from my search so here it is. I’ve message other people about riding but it’s so scattered I figured Id make a thread and people can add themselves as they’d like to.

I know the northern guys bike too and would love to plan rides up north in the future, or vice versa if you guys are ever in the valley :headbang:

    Awe yeah.

Here we go, time to dig through Flickr.

Pivot Mach 6 at Fischer Point. Popular ~12 mile ride on Thursday nights.

Mach 6 on AZT - Walnut Canyon before a nice drop into the canyon.

Mach 6 on a trail I can't remember in Sedona.

    Mach 6 at Alstrom Point.

Mach 6 on Rainbow Rim Trail at North Rim. Hard ride.

Mach 6 at top of Heart Trail right after they reworked it. That was a 33 mile ride day.

I ride 3 times per week in the summer if anyone wants to join. Tuesdays at 430 for a gravel ride, Thursdays at 430 for mtn bike, and Sundays at 8-9 for mtn bike. The guy who leads our group was an AZ Cross Country champion for a while, so the rides are intense.

Nice bike! I’ll be looking forward to joining some of those rides. How many people usually ride in your group?

    Thank you.

There are routinely 5 of us, maybe 7-8 on occasion, and we had one ride with 15 riders.

I want to hit some Prescott trails sometime if anyone else is able to.

    https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7002901/mingus-mountain-shuttle

    https://www.trailforks.com/trails/9415-wolverton-mountain/

Here are two rides that I think would be best if shuttled. Wolverton would still have some climbing since parking lot isn't right at the start of the trail.

The third ride I have marked that I want to do in Prescott is around the Dells. Right where canyon loop and approach meet there is a really cool open bowl/freeride type area that a friend took me to when I was so new I was unable to ride anything in it.

I'm sure I'm missing more awesome Prescott trails but I wanted to maybe do some shuttle trails since long-grueling climbs are not my forte.

I’ve been wanting to ride dells. A favorite of mine in Prescott is Goldwater. I don’t mind uphill but only if there’s an amazing layout for it!

Flag would be good shuttle runs. I know a good section on the San Francisco peaks trail that’ll be an awesome shuttle spot! I have a pad too so I can hold up to 5 or 6 maybe more if we really tried. There’s another DH trail in flag that I’ve been wanting to try, don’t know the name but I found it on accident. At the end there’s some gnarly jumps with gaps in the trees.

I too have a tailgate pad that can hold 5. If it was a single day excursion it'd be no issue but if I was camping a night I'd have to figure something out for where to put camping stuff while using truck as shuttle. I can only fit 2 with camping gear as well. If anyone wants to ride this Sunday just say so. I'll be down for pretty much whatever.

I haven’t run a pad but have tried every other setup , but really anyway you go start tapping out at 4-5 (can add to rack setup)

Anyone want to go to Prescott or flag tomorrow for some shuttle runs? Or just a nice group ride anywhere including Phoenix. Also curious: next weekend I was planning on going to sedona/flag and camping but now weathers going to be colder than expected and I don't own cold weather friendly camping gear. Where would you guys be going next weekend for some good weather and 2-3 full days of riding? I do and don't have interest in going to Tucson but that's mainly because I've never been there so wouldn't know what to ride.

My plans for Sunday to ride Sedona or Prescott look out the window. Is there anyone able to show me and a buddy around McDowell or Hawes Sunday morning? We aren't ones to just go ride for the sake of putting down miles. Looking for fun and interesting stuff. Or if anyone in Tucson is down for some shuttle action that would be even better. We just hit snow bowl today and riding hard on South Mountain tomorrow so legs will be pretty dead come Sunday.

Awesome lol. Thanks for mentioning it though. Hopefully tomorrow it doesn’t end up demoing much In sedona because I really want to show my friend the hog trails, and if he handles that well, hiline is no let down. I was looking at fort tuthill park as well to hit some jumps since we are both horrible at them, but flag 100% got too much snow. Was nice the get some turns in on a pow day today though.
