Ah! I know what you mean. I ran into that problem on the part below the taillight. Make sure to leave some metal sheet for support. Here is how I made the cut and hope you can see it after I zoomed in on it.

Thats the money shot!.....yea.... i cut way more lol, where u stopped i basically made a 45 degree angle and cut down, i figured since it was jus material jus sitten there for no use any more, i went to the black plastic flap, down and around it so the plastic tab still works and then sliced the corner and tapered it to the spot where the long nut is sticking out20210313_165408.jpg

It'll be worth it but gotta give Jerry a call to add on the uprights as I was too excited and didn't read it was needed to mount the tire carrier and other add ons:annoyed:

I believe I need to add the standard uprights to my order also. Accidently took them off when ordering. But yeah rocking a 2nd gen and haven't got the itch quite yet for 35's.

    Angled tire mounts.
15 degree slope, they will need to be mounted high with larger tires or the tire will hit the upright. We will also offer spacers for the deep back space guys.

Doesn’t the tire stick out farther, effectively making the truck even longer? What’s the benefit?

I can only speak for myself- aesthetically,
I like the way the angled version follows the shell. Functionally, I justify it as the angle will give a better departure angle

I do have something else for those that have been waiting for the other bolt on components.

Our Jerry can mounts are ready for production. And couldn't just be a box holding Jerry can's (My name is JERRY for fuc$sake) so I spent some time on these bad boys!

Introducing the BAMF Jerry can mount.
The main body of the mount is one solid formed part making it incredibly strong. The lid swings up and slots back to stay up with no holding. We wanted you to have options on mounting the cans and not just on our bumpers  I created a clamping system with a sliding stainless steel 2" OC mounting bracket to allow you to mount these cans to nearly anything "sorry not sorry"
The lid is locked down with a pad lockable spring loaded latch. but wait there's more! Under the lid we put a sliding plate with a rubber strip you can set to lock the can in place when you close that latch. There is also Five .250" holes on the base to add rubber bumpers (not included) if you so please under the cans to really isolate the can on rubber.

    304 Stainless steel mounting clamps.
    Mounting plates.jpg

    (Prototype shown)
    20210315_180713.jpg

Oh yeah and I made it so you can mount things on the side with our mounting clamps, like our 5lb flameKing mount. or a second Jerry Can mount
